Kevin Scott Hall, a long-time mover and shaker in New York's cabaret scene, begins his 20th season of his popular cabaret workshop, That Singing Feeling, with Monday night classes from June 1 through July 13, 2015. (There will be no class on July 6.)  Two showcases follow at The Duplex, Sunday, July 19 (4:30 pm), and Tuesday, July 21 (7:00 pm). Classes are limited to six participants.

The Muny announced today the cast for its production ofHairspray. Winner of the 2003 Tony® Award for Best Musical, it features music by Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman with a book by Mark O'Donnell & Thomas Meehan. The Muny's production of Hairspray is directed and choreographed by Dan Knechtges and music directed by Charlie Alterman.

In November 2014, singer/songwriter Rembert (Remy) Block staged three performances of her cabaret show tribute to Joni Mitchell—On a Lonely Road . . . Travelin' With Joni—at New York's iconic club, Don't Tell Mama. Joined again by her Musical Director Gregory Toroian on piano and her Director Raquel Cion, Remy Block is bringing back her highly praised show, this time to the Duplex Cabaret Theater on June 10 at 7 pm. The new play by Katori Hall (The Mountaintop, Our Lady of Kibeho) is directed by Kamilah Forbes and runs now through June 7, 2015 in the Kreeger Theater.

New Perspectives Theatre Company and VH Theatrical Development Foundation are delighted to announce a new collaboration on a limited-run production of She Calls Me Firefly by Teresa Lotz, opening tonight, April 15, 2015 and running through May 3, 2015 with a varied performance schedule.
