In November 2014, singer/songwriter Rembert (Remy) Block staged three performances of her cabaret show tribute to Joni Mitchell--On a Lonely Road . . . Travelin' With Joni--at New York's iconic club, Don't Tell Mama. Joined again by her Musical Director Gregory Toroian on piano and her Director Raquel Cion, Remy Block is bringing back her highly praised show, this time to the Duplex Cabaret Theater on June 10 at 7 pm. Many cabaret singers have tackled the iconic songs of Joni Mitchell, but in this unique take Remy Block weaves a dreamy narrative of her lifelong "search of love and music," starting with her youth as a restless misfit in Dallas in the 1970s, to her artistic and spiritual awakening as a university student in Boulder, through the stormy collision of creativity and romance as a young, passionate artist in Austin, to a transformative solo sojourn to India. As she relates in On a Lonely Road, she is accompanied in her adventures by Joni Mitchell classics such as "Help Me," "Case of You," "River," and "Both Sides Now" (video) which serves as a guide to map her quest for inspiration and understanding.

Rembert "Remy" Block is a Brooklyn, New York based singer, writer, and educator who writes original songs and often accompanies herself on the accordion. When she isn't performing her solo cabaret shows, Remy sings with local bands Bubble and American Ambulance, and with the all-woman cabaret trio Impending Bloom. Remy also performs as a guest singer in various pop/rock tribute shows and revues around New York City.
