Collegiate Chorale Presents MEFISTOFELE at Carnegie Hall Tonight

The Collegiate Chorale presents its first concert of the season, Mefistofele, by Arrigo Boito tonight, November 6, 2013 at 8pm at Carnegie Hall, 881 7th Avenue, NYC. The Collegiate Chorale will hold its Annual Fall Gala immediately following the concert.

Norm Lewis Reveals Details on Working with John Doyle for A BED AND A CHAIR

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Norm Lewis, Jeremy Jordan, Cyrille Aimee and Bernadette Peters will star in Stephen Sondheim and Wynton Marsalis's A BED AND A CHAIR: A New York Love Affair, a new musical event featuring Sondheim's music arranged and performed by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. Lewis was just on the red carpet at AFTER MIDNIGHT where he chatted with Richard Ridge about the project. He revealed: 'It's rearrangements- all jazz infusion. It's not gonna be totally jazz, you'll still understand that it's Stephen Sondheim and its his music and his arrangements, but there is a little influence that Wynton Marsalis will put on it as well.'

TENET, 'a respected fixture on the New York concert scene' (WQXR), under the artistic direction of soprano Jolle Greenleaf, announces a collaboration with Dark Horse Consort and Bach Collegium San Diego in a program entitled Praetorius: In Dulci Jubilo. The program includes many beloved works by Michael Praetorius and features rarely heard gems by some of his contemporaries including Hammerschmidt, Rosenmuller, Schutz, Scheidt, and Schmelzer.

Southport Ave. Saturday, Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. The piece, inspired by Winslow Homer's classic American painting "Snap The Whip" is danced to Aaron Copland's timeless masterpiece "Appalachian Spring." An American Portrait voices the power of the land and the people who tamed it and has been hailed as an emotional treat for audiences since its premiere in 2003. Also on the evening's program - all choreographed by Gordon Peirce Schmidt - will be Get Out Your Handkerchief with music by Christian Woehr, Bonhom with music by Christopher Rouse, Trois with music by Jean Sibelius and excerpts from Journee des Tziganes with music by John Jorgenson.
