Jim Butz to Star in Shakespeare Festival St. Louis' HENRY IV & HENRY V, 5/17-6/15

Jim Butz will play the expansive role of Prince Hal/King Henry V in Shakespeare Festival St. Louis' productions of Henry IV and Henry V, May 17 through June 15, at Shakespeare Glen in Forest Park, it was announced today by Rick Dildine, artistic and executive director of Shakespeare Festival St. Louis.

Crossroads Theatre Co-Founders to Reunite, 2/9

Ricardo Khan and L. Kenneth Richardson, who co-founded Crossroads Theatre Company in 1978 as young Rutgers graduates, will reunite for the first time in 25 years at a special kickoff event for 'Legacy Month' on Sunday, Feb. 9, celebrating the theater's history and enduring contributions to black theater and the American cultural landscape.

Cate Blanchett-Led THE MAIDS and More Set for 2014 Lincoln Center Festival

Nigel Redden, director of Lincoln Center Festival today announced the 2014 Festival's line-up, which runs from July 7 through August 16, 2014, with performances by artists and ensembles from 11 countries unfolding in six venues on and off the Lincoln Center campus. These productions join the previously-announced Lincoln Center Festival and Park Avenue Armory co-presentation of Mieczyslaw Weinberg's opera, The Passenger, performed by Houston Grand Opera, directed by David Pountney, and conducted by Patrick Summers.

The JPL Chorus joins the Donald Brinegar Singers for a choral celebration of winter with Epiphany. This free concert takes place at Pasadena City College's Westerbeck Recital Hall at 8pm.

TENET with Dark Horse Consort and Bach Collegium San Diego, Presents 'In Dulci Jubilo' Tonight

TENET, 'a respected fixture on the New York concert scene' (WQXR), under the artistic direction of soprano Jolle Greenleaf, announces a collaboration with Dark Horse Consort and Bach Collegium San Diego in a program entitled Praetorius: In Dulci Jubilo. The program includes many beloved works by Michael Praetorius and features rarely heard gems by some of his contemporaries including Hammerschmidt, Rosenmuller, Schutz, Scheidt, and Schmelzer.

Houston Early Music Festival to Run 2/8-16

Ars Lyrica Houston, Bach Society Houston, Houston Early Music and Mercury - The Orchestra Redefined will host the second annual Houston Early Music Festival (HEMF) from February 8-16, 2014 at venues across the city. The festival will feature four main-stage performances, two ancillary performances and four lectures.

WICKED Breaks Box Office Records in Indianapolis

Broadway's biggest Blockbuster, WICKED, flew out of the Old National Centre on Sunday, December 1, after a 24-performance return engagement in Indianapolis presented by Broadway in Indianapolis. Over 58,600 patrons were in attendance for this recent run which grossed over $4.7 million and broke the current Old National Centre box office record, which was also held by WICKED. The show's popularity has continued, if not grown, since the record-breaking runs in 2009 and 2010, providing a significant impact on the local economy for a third time.

This new script by Patrick Barlow, the Tony-award winning playwright of The 39 Steps, is a whirlwind telling of the classic holiday story where five actors take on all of the roles. Trustus will be one of only four theatres who have the rights to produce this new adaptation as the show also makes its Off-Broadway premiere this holiday season. Scrooge and all of his ghostly counterparts will come to the Thigpen Main Stage as A Christmas Carol opens tonight, December 6th at 8:00pm.

TENET Honors St. Cecilia & Benjamin Britten with ODES Tonight

TENET, one of New York's preeminent vocal ensembles combines forces with the highly acclaimed chamber ensembleThe Sebastians in a performance of ODES: A Celebration of St. Cecilia. Works to be performed include odes by Henry Purcell and a tribute to Benjamin Britten on his birthday during this anniversary year. TENET will perform his poignant and beloved Hymn to St. Ceciliafor unaccompanied choir in an intimate, one-voice-per-part scoring. The performance is part of TENET's fifth anniversary festivities and takes place at 7PM tonight, November 22, St. Cecilia's Day at St. Luke in the Fields (487 Hudson Street, New York).
