9 TCG Member Theatres Are 2009 Recipients Of Edgerton Foundation New American Play Awards

Launched in 2006, the Edgerton Foundation New American Play Awards have a growing track record for success, with 24 out of 46 plays living on in subsequent productions, many of which are nominated for prestigious awards. ?That?s a remarkable outcome,? said Teresa Eyring, Executive Director of Theatre Communications Group (TCG). ?Dr. Brad Edgerton and his wife Louise are clearly making a contribution to play development that has an impact on the continuing life of new plays.?

TCG Announces Summer/Fall International Travel Grant Recipients

Five theaters and two individuals have been selected to participate in the ninth round of the New Generations Program/Future Collaborations initiative. This round of recipients is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and administered by Theatre Communications Group (TCG).

American Theater Magazine Turns 25

Long considered the essential magazine for professional not-for-profit theatre, AMERICAN THEATRE magazine (AT), published ten times annually by Theatre Communications Group (TCG), has been providing theatre professionals, students, advocates and audiences a comprehensive journal since April, 1984. At a time when coverage of the arts may be at an all-time low, the substantive and continuing contributions of AMERICAN THEATRE put it in a class of its own.

Theatre Communications Group Releases Report on Not-for-Profit Theatre's 'Fiscal Pulse'

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for professional, not-for-profit theatre, released the data from a recent snapshot survey yesterday. The survey, Taking Your Fiscal Pulse, was designed to measure financial trends in the field from fall 2008-winter 2009. Conducted in January 2009, the survey highlights fiscal data from member theatres, budget projections and re-projections for year-end (typically, June 30), and strategies for surviving the current economic climate.

TCG Announces 2009 Conference ROOTS. RENAISSANCE. REVOLUTION

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for professional, not-for-profit theatre announces its 2009 conference: Roots. Renaissance. Revolution. From June 4-6, 2009, the theatre community will come together in Baltimore to investigate how generational perspectives affect the entire field, including the choice of plays produced, the atmosphere created in workplaces, the appeal of various leadership styles, and the processes used to identify, attract and retain audiences.

Berekely Rep Kicks Off Theatre Conference this Weekend

This weekend, professionals from across America convene in the Bay Area for a national conference that will engage and mobilize the emerging leaders of American theatre. The event - New Leaders for a New Century - has been convened by three nationally respected organizations: Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Theatre Bay Area, and Theatre Communications Group. Participants meet on Sunday, October 5 at Berkeley Rep's Roda Theatre and on Monday, October 6 at the War Memorial and Performing Arts Center in San Francisco.

Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing's 62nd Annual Antoinette Perry 'Tony' Awards were announced today by Tony Award Winners Sara Ramirez and David Hyde Pierce at the Tony Award Nominations Announcement sponsored by IBM. The nominees were selected by an independent committee of 23 theatre professionals appointed by the Tony Awards Administration Committee. The 2008 Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.
