The Public Theater announced complete casting today for the New York premiere of HEAD OF PASSES, written by Tarell Alvin McCraney and directed by Tina Landau. Part of Oskar Eustis' 10th anniversary season, HEAD OF PASSES begins previews on Tuesday, March 15 in the Newman Theater and runs through Sunday, April 17, with an official press opening on Monday, March 28.

Phylicia Rashad returns to The Public to play 'Shelah' in this deeply moving new drama about family, acceptance, and the power of faith. In a dilapidated house near the ever-shifting mouth of the Mississippi, Shelah's family gathers on a stormy night for her birthday -- bringing ghosts and secrets of the past with them. As her roof buckles under the weight of the rain, Shelah's convictions begin to wash away, leaving her to excavate the truths buried below. Directed by Tina Landau, the riveting Head of Passes comes to the Bay Area straight from its critically lauded world premiere in Chicago. Head of Passes is a co-production with the Public Theater in New York. It begins previews on Berkeley Rep's intimate Thrust Stage today, April 10, opens today, April 17, and runs through Sunday, May 24, 2015. Trustus Theatre is bringing a fresh voice in American playwriting to Columbia as they open Tarell Alvin McCraney's In the Red and Brown Water, part one of a trilogy called The Brother/Sister Plays. This play is likened to a choreopoem where poetry, prose, music, and movement come together to tell a story. This unique script and ambitious production will open on the Thigpen Main Stage tonight, January 23rd at 8:00pm. The show will run through Saturday, February 7th, 2015.

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the Southern California premiere of The Brothers Size by award-winning playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney. Directed by Tea Alagi?, The Brothers Size will run Jan. 26 - Feb. 24, 2013 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run Jan. 26 - Jan. 30. The Theatre School at DePaul University presents IN THE RED AND BROWN WATER, by alumnus and award-winning playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney, and directed by Marc David Pinate, as the first production of the 2012-2013 New Directors Series. IN THE RED AND BROWN WATER opens Today, November 2, and runs through Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the Greenhouse Theater Center. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Previews are on October 31 and November 1 at 7:30 PM.
