BWW Interviews: Krissy Johnson, This Dancer's Life

Now in her third season with Nashville Ballet, Krissy Johnson is a definite audience favorite. The Louisa, Kentucky, native has studied at Performing Arts Inc. in Ashland, Kentucky, and holds a bachelor of arts degree from Point Park University, and before becoming a company members was a trainee and apprentice at Nashville Ballet. With the company's winter series - Director's Choice - just behind her (Krissy was one of the six dancers featured in the company's North American premiere of Twyla Tharp's The Story Teller), there's a very good chance she's spending some richly deserved time off this week.

BWW Reviews: DIRECTOR'S CHOICE Winter Series from Nashville Ballet

With the North American premiere of Twyla Tharp's The Story Teller generating most of the buzz prior to opening night, Nashville Ballet's Director's Choice winter series provided a much-needed jolt of electricity to the city's midwinter arts calendar. But it was the exquisite pairing of Molly Sansone and Jon Upleger in Salvatore Aiello's completely sensual and mildly erotic Satto that truly turned up the heat in the company's annual salute to contemporary dance.

Barneys New York Announces Backstage Black & White Spring Campaign

Barneys New York, the luxury specialty retailer, announces its 'Backstage' Spring 2011 campaign. The campaign features unique black and white images taken backstage at the world's most prestigious fashion shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris. Some of the celebrated photographers whose work is featured in the campaign include Nan Goldin, William Klein, Roxanne Lowit, Raymond Meier, Collier Schorr, Stephane Sednaoui and Juergen Teller. Additionally, Barneys New York commissioned backstage images from a select group of young and emerging photographers including Anna Bauer, JH Engstrom, Jason Lloyd Evans, Robert Fairer, Boo George, Nick Haymes, Leigh Ledare and Andrea Spotorno.

People’s Light & Theatre Presents KIDNAPPED! Closes 2/6

People's Light & Theatre presents Kidnapped!, an adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson novel, by Ernie Joselovitz, which closes February 6, 2011. Resident Director Samantha Bellomo directs. PLAY DEAD Celebrates 100th Performance, 2/5

Play Dead,the new off-Broadway comic thriller co-written and directed by Teller (of Penn & Teller) and co-written & performed by Todd Robbins, will mark its 100th performance on Saturday, February 5 at 10pm at Off-Broadway's Players Theater (115 MacDougal Street at Minetta Lane). Play Dead opened to rave reviews on November 10, for an open-ended run. The cast of PLAY DEAD includes Geri Berman, Charlotte Pines, Drea Lorraine and Don Meehan.
