Billboard has reported that the Mean Girls cast album has debuted at Number One on the cast albums chart and Number 42 on the all-genre Billboard 200, making it the highest debut for a cast album in over a year.

Atlantic Records is celebrating today's digital release of "MEAN GIRLS ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST RECORDING," the official companion to the Tony Award®-nominated new musical comedy based on the iconic film. The album is available now at all DSPs and streaming services; physical CDs arrive in stores nationwide on Friday, June 8th.

Tina Fey, writer of Mean Girls, appeared on The Tonight Show last night! She chatted about the show's dozen Tony nominations, and Jimmy Fallon reminds her of the punk song she asked him to to write for the movie soundtrack. Hear it in the first clip below!

The 2004 film "Mean Girls" was written by Tina Fey. Now a Broadway musical version of the film has earned a whopping 12 Tony nominations. Fey tells TODAY that she was at the gym when she got the news, and "I started crying in the middle of Equinox." More on this story here.

Continuing TODAY's 'Best of Broadway' week, Tina Fey is live on the TODAY plaza to introduce a performance by the cast of her Broadway musical 'Mean Girls,' which has received a dozen Tony nominations. Watch them perform a song from the show, 'Apex Predator.'

On last night's Tonight Show, Barrett Wilbert Weed, currently playing Janice in Mean Girls on Broadway, performed 'I'd Rather Be Me.' Tina Fey, the writer of the musical, as well as the movie it is based on, was on hand to introduce Barrett's performance. Watch the video below!
