Target Margin Theater's Critically Acclaimed PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE GIRL Returns This Month

Target Margin Theater (Founding Artistic Director David Herskovits, Associate Artistic Director Moe Yousuf) is proud to present a remount of its acclaimed production, Pay No Attention to the Girl, for a limited three week run (October 25-November 11). The production brings to life interwoven stories about the sexes - their conflicts, their love, their tricks -from various translations / transmissions of The One Thousand and One Nights, a collection of Silk Road, MENA (Middle Eastern / North African), and South Asian tales.

Sarah Hughes Helms New Cara Scarmack Play With Buran Theatre

Buran Theatre's inaugural CartHorse Fellow Cara Scarmack will see her play some higher glimmer in the landscape of flat premiere as a culmination of the fellowship. Under the direction of Sarah Hughes, the immersive and genre-defying work-straddling theatre, dance and music-will see a three-week run at The Collapsable Hole in the West Village from October 20-November 3.

Soho Rep Announces 2018-19 Season

Soho Rep. announces its 2018-2019 season, with two world premieres that demonstrate the small but flexible space's 'indispensible' (New York Magazine) presence as 'a 70-seat house filled with big ideas' (Hilton Als, The New Yorker). Through singular and irreverent stylistic approaches, Kate Tarker's Thunderbodies,directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz (October 16-November 18, 2018), and Christopher Chen's Passage, directed by Saheem Ali (April 23-May 26, 2019),interrogate the staggering ramifications of U.S and global imperialism.

Lantern Theater Company Presents The Philadelphia Premiere Of HAPGOOD By Tom Stoppard

Lantern Theater Company kicks off its 2018/19 season with the regional premiere of Hapgood by Tom Stoppard. Longtime Lantern artistic collaborator Peter DeLaurier will direct a cast that includes McKenna Kerrigan as MI5 spymaster Elizabeth Hapgood, with Damon Bonetti, Kirk Wendell Brown, Trevor William Fayle, Christopher Patrick Mullen, Adam Phelan, David Pica, William Zielinski, and young actors Charles LaMonaca and Will Zielinski, who will share the role of Hapgood's son Joe. Theater critics and members of the press are invited to request tickets for opening night on Wednesday, September 12 at 7 p.m. by contacting Anne Shuff at ashuff@lanterntheater.org. Performances run Thursday, September 6 through Sunday, October 14, 2018; a full schedule of performances and related special events is included in the fact sheet below.

Berkeley Rep Announces Final Casting for FAIRVIEW

Final casting for Berkeley Repertory Theatre's upcoming production of Fairview was announced today. Written by Jackie Sibblies Drury, directed bySarah Benson, with choreography by Raja Feather Kelly, the world premiere production comes straight to Berkeley Rep from a critically acclaimed New York run. Previews begin on Thursday, October 4 with regular run of the show opening on Thursday, October 11 and continuing through Sunday, November 4. Individual tickets begin at $30 ($15 if you're under 35) and can be purchased online at berkeleyrep.org or by phone at 510 647-2949.

HEARTBREAK HOUSE Starring Alison Fraser and More Begins Today

Gingold Theatrical Group announces that performances will begin this evening for the Shaw's timely classic comedy Heartbreak House, at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues) and continue through September 29th only.  Opening Night for this limited Off-Broadway engagement is set for Sunday September 9th.

Newly Adapted HEDDA By Kelly Lamanna Plays TNC Dream Up Fest

In 'Hedda' a new adaptation by Kelly Lamanna, one performer and one stage manager, armed with puppets, dolls, gizmos, and gadgets will attempt to perform the lamentable tale of Hedda Gabler as first written by Henrik Ibsen. Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival will present the world premiere of the piece August 31 to September 13.

After opening its first permanent home in November 2017 and presenting an inaugural season that included a "tantalizing production" of Pay No Attention to the Girl, a New York Times critic's pick, Target Margin Theater (Founding Artistic Director David Herskovits, Associate Artistic Director Moe Yousuf) is pleased to announce its second season at The Doxsee. The 2018-2019 season continues Target Margin's multi-year focus on The One Thousand and One Nights, a collection of Silk Road, MENA (Middle Eastern / North African), and South Asian stories, and includes a new presenting series.

The Brick Presents HAMLET: WHAT DREAMS MAY COME

Created in collaboration between Drama Desk award-winning playwright Adam Mathias and Bakerloo Theatre Project Artistic Director William Addis, this stunning, fast-paced, four person adaptation uses Shakespeare's text in a post-modern exploration of the English language's most enigmatic anti-hero. In the instant following his death, Hamlet awakens in a surreal dreamscape and must replay the pivotal moments of his tragedy with the help of his mother, his friend, and his love.

Monsterpiece Tears Down TWO (GENTLEMEN) OF VERONA

Join Monsterpiece Theater Collective as it tries to solve Shakespeare's problem play by tearing it down brick by brick. An all female cast takes on Two Gentlemen of Verona, kickin it where it needs to be kicked and lovin it how it should be loved. These 9 warriors set out to confront the poetic words and misogynistic tendencies of the man whose work is constantly referred to as timeless... Is it really? Come see a bunch of girls make Bill Shakes roll over in his grave.

MARIE AND BRUCE Comes to JACK Brooklyn

Today, Marie decides to leave her husband: 'Let me tell you something. I find my husband so God damned irritating that I'm planning to leave him. And that's a fact.' But in Wallace Shawn's 1978 American masterpiece, facts are slippery things. In this radical re-imagining at JACK, two multi-disciplinary artists play the combative titular couple and head up the design team. Joined by an ensemble of some of Brooklyn's sharpest comedic voices, Gordon Landenberger (Bruce) and trans actress Theda Hammel (Marie) double as the set and sound designers, respectively, for this hilarious and timely new production.

The Brick Theater, Inc. and Doghouse Ensemble Theatre present AS YOU LIKE IT, adapted and directed by Catherine Andre (originally by William Shakespeare). As part of The Festival of Lies, AS YOU LIKE IT will play at The Brick (579 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn) June 23 at 1pm, June 25 at 7pm, and July 1 at 1pm.
