The DCPA Theatre Company has announced playwrights, dates, and details for the 2022 Colorado New Play Summit. The 16th annual festival will take place over two weekends, February 25-26 and March 4-6, and feature readings of new plays by James Ijames, Kimber Lee, Leonard Madrid, and Kirsten Potter.

Tickets for GableStage's 23rd season are now on sale with streaming options. Intimate, edgy and inspiring, the new season presents three world premiere productions and one rolling premiere. 

Living legend Rita Moreno stops by 'Awards Chatter' podcast to chat about her life in the industry. On Tuesday, October 5 (9 pm), PBS will air American Masters - Rita Moreno: Just a Girl Who Decided to Go For It. 

Three new artists will join Trinity Repertory Company's resident company in the 2021-22 Season. Tatyana-Marie Carlo, Rachel Christopher, and Taavon Gamble have each worked with Trinity Rep for many years and will take on a more active role with the organization by joining the company. They will contribute as actors, directors, choreographers, and educators. 

Film interviewees include Gloria Estefan, Morgan Freeman, Mitzi Gaynor, Whoopi Goldberg, Eva Longoria, Justina Machado, Terrence McNally, Karen Olivo, as well as Norman Lear and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Victory Gardens Theater will welcome Marisa Carr, Keelay Gipson, Isaac Gómez and Stacey Rose as the new members of the Victory Gardens Playwrights Ensemble. The Ensemble will be members for a three-year term, through 2024.

National New Play Network has announced the winner of the 2021 Smith Prize for Political Theater: Bernardo Cubría. His play The Giant Void in my Soul was nominated for Best Playwright at the 2018 Ovation Awards, Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards, and The Stage Raw Awards.

PCPA brings back InterPlay readings from February 26 through March 20 - with four new plays, each being read twice over the course of four weekends. The readings are all live streamed via Zoom. The series includes The Mountaintop, Into the Breeches!, Two Degrees, and Fade. Performances are 7pm Fridays and 1:30pm on Saturdays. $10 per viewer or $40 for all four.

Clubbed Thumb has announced the complete line-up for the 25th annual SUMMERWORKS, its festival of new plays. SUMMERWORKS will run May 15 - July 1, 2020 at The Wild Project (195 E. 3rd Street) in Manhattan and will feature productions of three new plays: SPINDLE SHUTTLE NEEDLE by Gab Reisman and directed by Tamilla Woodard; BODIES THEY RITUAL by Angela Hanks and directed by Knud Adams; and THE WOMAN'S PARTY by Rinne Groff and directed by Tara Ahmadinijad.

Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater announces its 2020 Summer Theater Season, featuring five plays performed on the Julie Harris Stage. Performances start June 10 and run through October 18.

Sundance Institute, a nonprofit organization that provides and preserves the space for independent artists in film, theatre, and media to create and thrive, and Ucross, a prestigious artist residency program and creative laboratory for the arts, and have announced seven fellows participating in the 21st annual Sundance Institute Artist Residency at Ucross in Wyoming, currently taking place February 3-21, 2020. This year, the retreat was renamed (formerly the Sundance Institute Playwrights & Composers Retreat) to reflect its cross-disciplinary structure.

ATX Television Festival has announced additional programming for year nine of the festival, which will take place June 4-7, 2020, in Austin, Texas.   ATX Season 9 will include reunions for two beloved comedies from creator/director/executive producer  Bill Lawrence: “Scrubs,” and “Cougar Town,” which was co-created by Kevin Biegel (“Enlisted”). Lawrence will join “Scrubs” cast members Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, Neil Flynn and Christa Miller for a reunion panel celebrating 10 years since the series finale. 

Trinity Repertory Company has announced that $60,445.55 was raised for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank from the 2019 A Christmas Carol audiences - the second-highest amount ever raised in the thirteen years donations have been requested. Since 2006, this tradition has been a part of the theater's commitment to its community and a reminder to audiences to bring the spirit of Dickens' story into their lives and the rest of Rhode Island. This year's collection brings the total raised over the past thirteen years to more than $667,500.
