New Georges (Susan Bernfield, Artistic Director; Sarah Cameron Sunde, Associate Director; Jaynie Saunders Tiller, Managing Director) will present the acclaimed world premiere of Sylvan Oswald's Nightlands. This Off-Broadway limited engagement, kicking off their 20th Anniversary season at HERE (145 6th Avenue; entrance on Dominick, 1 block south of Spring Street) continues through October 29th only.

Harlem9 presents 48 HOUR IN HARLEM - a twist on the traditional 24- hour play festival. The inaugural event of 9 producers, bringing together 6 playwrights, 6 directors, and 18 actors to re-conceive classic plays from the African-American Diaspora. Harlem9 aims to explore the past, present, and future of black culture and our rich history of storytelling, thus serving to contribute to the re-invigoration of the Harlem community. 48 HOURS IN HARLEM's final presentation is Sunday, August 14, 2011. This one night only performance is at 7pm at Harlem School of the Arts. Full show details and performance schedules are below. Working Theatre Announces New Season and Leadership

Working Theater - the Off-Broadway theatre dedicated to plays for and about working people, notably industrial, transportation and service trades -- has announced that Mark Plesent, the company's Producing Director since 1995, will take on the artistic leadership of the Company with the new title of Producing Artistic Director, effective immediately. Laura Smith, the Company's Director of Special Events and Marketing since 2006, will assume the role of Managing Director. Playwright and actress Lisa Ramirez will be brought on as Artistic Associate.
