The Internationalists & Neighborhood Productions Present HOTEL PROJECT
After a sold-out run in Queretaro, Mexico in July, Hotel Project will receive its United States premiere at two New York area hotels January 27 through February 5, 2012. Produced by The Internationalists and Neighborhood Productions, Hotel Project is a theatrical experience for one spectator at a time, performed in and inspired by a hotel and created by local and international teams of playwrights and directors.
The creative team, which includes Mexican playwright/director Alfonso Cárcamo, American director Doug Howe, Romanian director Ana Margineanu, Romanian playwright Peca Stefan, and American director Tamilla Woodard, will develop three 20-minute plays specifically for The GrandSummit Hotel in Summit, New Jersey to be performed January 27 through 29, 2012. The following week, the team will create a new set of plays for the Washington Jefferson Hotel in New York City to be performed February 3 through 5, 2012.
The uniqueness of the project consists in the relationship between performer and spectator. For participating artists, it offers the prospect of deep collaboration across national and lingual borders and the creation of lasting artistic partnerships and creative influence.
Tickets will be $45 for performances at The Grand Summit Hotel (570 Springfield Ave Summit, NJ 07901) in New Jersey and $55 for performances at the Washington Jefferson Hotel (318 West 51st St., between 8th & 9th Ave.; Subway: 1 or C to 50th St.) in midtown Manhattan. Tickets will go on sale January 1, 2012.
Hotel Project is generously supported by the Consulate General of Spain in New York. For more information, visit www.hotelproject.co.
