This year marks a half-century since Dr. Martin Luther King's earthly journey ended and the Civil Rights Act of 1968 was passed. To memorialize this occasion, The New School's Nth Degree Series and Project1VOICE present Words of Change-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the New School on April 4, 2018, at 6:01 p.m. in the Auditorium Room 106, 66 West 12th Street.

AMC announced today, on International Women's Day, the darkly comedic series “Dietland,” from executive producer Marti Noxon, will premiere with two back-to-back episodes on Monday, June 4 at 9:00pm ET/PT. The extraordinarily timed series unveils one woman's journey to self-awakening while exploring a multitude of issues faced by women today – including patriarchy, misogyny, rape culture and unrealistic beauty standards. Based on Sarai Walker's 2015 best-selling, critically acclaimed novel of the same name, “Dietland” stars Joy Nash(“The Mindy Project,” “Twin Peaks”) as lead Plum Kettle, and Golden Globe® and Emmy® Award-winner Julianna Margulies (“The Good Wife,” “ER”) as Kitty Montgomery. Marti Noxon (“Mad Men,”“UnREAL,”) serves as executive producer, writer, showrunner and directs multiple episodes on the series.
Harlem School of The Arts & Actress Tamara Tuni Announce New Musical Based on ALICE IN WONDERLAND

JAZZLAND: in Concert, a new musical inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, and set in Harlem, circa the 1930s at the height of the Harlem Renaissance, will begin rehearsals in March, and is scheduled for a limited run at the HSA Theatre, 649 Saint Nicholas Avenue, in New York City. Performances are scheduled for two consecutive weekends, beginning on Friday, May 11 through Sunday, May 20.

Monty Hall could not have offered a more spectacular deal. Four women had the right price and were the top bidders at last year's Primary Stages Gala's Silent Auction. As a result, Tony Award-Winning Broadway legend Betty Buckley came through door #1 at Jamie deRoy's apartment and sang at a private party organized by the winners . Jamie, Catherine Adler, Paula Kaminsky Davis and Christina Rose.

Duncan Sheik the Grammy and Tony Award-winning artist made his Cafe Carlyle debut last night and BroadwayWorld was there. Sheik launched his career in 1996 with his Grammy nominated self-titled debut album. Sheik is the composer for the critically acclaimed musical Spring Awakening, which went on to win eight Tony Awards in 2007, including awards for Best Orchestrations and Best Original Score. The album earned Sheik a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.

It was a swell family affair at Two River Theater last night as a searing and powerful production of Lorraine Hansberry's American classic A Raisin in the Sun, helmed by Carl Cofield and starring Brandon J. Dirden as Walter Lee Younger, his wife Crystal A. Dickinson as Ruth Younger, his father Willie Dirden as Bobo, Brenda Pressley as Lena Younger, Jasmine Batchelor as Beneatha Younger, Nat DeWolf as Karl Lindner, Charlie Hudson III as Joseph Asagai, Owen Tabaka as Travis Younger, York Walker as George Murchison, with Andrew Binger and David Joel Rivera as the Moving Men, celebrated opening night.
