Due to extraordinary public demand, the new hit British musical SUNNY AFTERNOON has announced a further extension to its West End run. It is now booking until 24 October 2015, at the Harold Pinter Theatre. The critically acclaimed new musical, which tells the story of the early life of Ray Davies and the rise to stardom of The Kinks, recently celebrated its 100th performance.

Ray Davies of The Kinks will be signing CD copies of the official cast recording album of Sunny Afternoon, Lola vs the Powerman new deluxe edition and the new Kinks five-CD box set 'The Anthology 1964-1971', at the Harold Pinter Theatre, London, from 4.00pm - 5.15pm on 11 December 2014.

Having missed the opportunity to see Sunny Afternoon during its run at the Hampstead Theatre, I was thrilled (and not at all surprised) when it was announced earlier this year that it would be transferring to the West End. The biographical show detailing the history of Ray Davies and The Kinks, is different in that alongside all of the hit songs we all know and love, it takes us through all of the personal and professional tribulations the band went through during their rise to fame in the 1960s.

Sunny Afternoon, the critically acclaimed new musical, which tells the story of the early life of Ray Davies and the rise to stardom of The Kinks, has released seven preview tracks from the official cast recording album, released later this month. All 29 tracks on the album are performed entirely by members of the company, with John Dagleish as Ray Davies, George Maguire as Dave Davies, Ned Derrington as Pete Quaife and Adam Sopp as Mick Avory.

Actor/director Dexter Fletcher allegedly appeared at the show with film producers Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich to scout the production. Ben Cross, Nigel Havers, Nicholas Farrell and Alice Krige, stars of the original 1981 film Chariots of Fire, made a surprise visit to the Gielgud Theatre last night, July 10, to meet with the actors currently performing in Edward Hall's five star stage production of the same name. The stage cast, led by James McArdle, Jack Lowden, Tam Williams, Mark Edel-Hunt and Savannah Stevenson were introduced to their film character counterparts and to an excited audience at the Gielgud Theatre. Hugh Hudson, Director of the original film and co-producer of the new stage adaptation joined actors from both film and stage at this unique curtain call.
