Edward C. & Ann T. Roberts Foundation to Celebrate 50th Anniversary with 'NED AND SUNNY', 10/5

The Edward C. & Ann T. Roberts Foundation will celebrate its 50th anniversary with the world-premiere of Ned and Sunny: A Hartford Love Story. The play, written by Hartford-based playwright, Jacques Lamarre, tells the story of Edward 'Ned' Roberts and Ann 'Sunny' Thorsen, arts enthusiasts who meet in 1938 through the Mark Twain Masquers, marry, and establish a foundation to support the arts in the Greater Hartford region.

Hartt Dance Division presents INTERFACE November 1-2

The Dance Division of the University of Hartford's The Hartt School presents Interface, a senior dance composition production featuring works choreographed by Tessa Crawford, Lauren Curley, Rebecca DeNies, Meghan Dodd, and Haruka Tamura, and danced by the Division's talented student body. Performances are Friday, November 1, at 7:30 PM; and Saturday November 2, at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM, at the Edward C. and Ann T. Roberts Black Box Theater, located in the Mort and Irma Handel Performing Arts Center, 35 Westbourne Parkway, Hartford, CT. Admission is $20 for adults; $18 for seniors, students, alumni, and educators; and $15 each for groups of 10 or more. University of Hartford students, faculty, and staff each receive one free ticket with a valid University ID. Lark Announces Staff Changes

The Lark Play Development Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Vanessa Rose as the new Director of Development, and the promotion of long time staff member Anna Kull to the position of Director of Community Relationships. Both of these positions were created to help Lark to meet the growing demands for the services the 19-year old company provides as a laboratory for new theatrical work. Over the past five years, Lark's budget and staff have doubled in size and our community of artists and partners has increased substantially. The expertise that Rose and Kull bring to their new positions will support Lark's short and long-term strategic objectives focused on meeting these increased needs.

Exit 12 Dance Company's THE NUTCRACKER Honors Military Service, Now thru 12/16

The Company's version of Nutcracker has a unique military twist, which it comes by naturally. Choreographer Roman Baca, a graduate of Connecticut's Nutmeg Conservatory and Artistic Director of Exit 12 Dance Company, was deployed with the U.S. Marine Corps in Fallujah, Iraq in 2005. Baca dances the role of 'Colonel Drosselmeyer' who creates a magical nutcracker doll for his goddaughter, Clara, with the hope it will come to life and take the place of his nephew, who is being deployed. Area families are able to enjoy the magic of a classic Nutcracker ballet, in an intimate theatre while honoring those who are serving our country.

EW reports that anchorwoman Robin Roberts will begin her medical leave from ABC's GOOD MORNING AMERICA this Friday, August 31st. Roberts announced the news on this morning's broadcast, following a Twitter message by GMA which read: "Friday will be @RobinRoberts' last day before leaving for her bone marrow transplant and treatment for MDS."
