CLASSICAL BRIDGE, Inaugural Music Festival, Academy & Conference Comes to NYC This August

This August, New York City will host the first ever Classical Bridge, an international music festival, academy and conference designed to build bridges through the music. Presented by New York Concert Artists & Associates (NYCA), the inaugural event runs August 4 - 11 at Merkin Concert Hall atKaufman Music Center (129 West 67th Street, between Broadway & Amsterdam Ave), Symphony Space (2537 Broadway, at 96th Street), and Steinway Hall (1133 Avenue of the Americas at 44th Street). THE TRILOGY Examines Challenges Faced by African American Men

Three theater veterans who originally connected at the Paul Robeson Theater have come together to present The Trilogy - An Evening of One-Act Plays at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre at Symphony Space, June 22-30. Co-produced by playwright Gary Batson (Phoenix Arts) and actor Eugene Daniels (Daniels Productions), this production represents the completion of an idea that was postponed by the untimely death of their third partner Arnold Beauchamp, former artistic director of the Robeson. Now directing the production is Evria Ince-Waldron, also from The Paul Robeson Theater.

MOTOWN's N'Kenge Returns to Broadway at The Pierre!

Broadway's MOTOWN: The Musical and Helen Hayes nominee N'Kenge, will be the first to perform a solo show at The Pierre Hotel. She will be collaborating with Musical Director Josh Kight on piano. Broadway at The Pierre Series is thrilled to have N'Kenge back after a Sold Out performance a few months ago where she performed alongside Antoine L. Smith and Dan Domenach. Its a One Night Only event on Monday May 7, 2018 at 8:30PM in the Two E Lounge.

The 13th season continued on April 30th with SHAW SONGS, a festive cabaret evening of songs that George Bernard Shaw played, sang, and enjoyed (1856-1950). Marcia Milgrom Dodge directs with Paul Staroba serving as Musical Director.

The performance will run approximately 3 hours, with one intermission.

Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) Hosts Cabaret & Comedy Night- 'A Spring Sing Thing' May 12

On Saturday, May 12, from 7 to 10 pm, Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) will host its seasonal fundraiser, 'A Spring Sing Thing,' a cabaret act featuring vocalists and comedians Lin Snider and Sally Sherwood accompanied by Blake Rowe on keyboard. The performance, a blend of popular musical standards combined with zany comedy, has toured the area for over 20 years in various guises and updates, drawing audiences throughout New York City and Westchester.

WMI Presents LADAMA At Littlefield In Brooklyn, 5/5

LADAMA is an ensemble of women musicians from across the Americas who, aside from performing as a touring band, strive to engage the youth in their respective communities in the process of music-making, composition and audio production through collaboration and performance workshops. The musicians are Mafer Bandola (Venezuela), Lara Klaus (Brazil), Daniela Serna (Colombia) and Sara Lucas (U.S.). With rhythm and percussion driving their original compositions that are sung in Spanish, Portuguese and English, they combine disparate, traditional roots music with pop. The result is a sonic experience that encourages the audience to view the future as a world that communicates across continents and cultures, using sound and story.
