Actor, novelist and award-winning playwright Jim Shankman, who recently debuted his newest play, Heartless Bastard, as part of the SubletSeries@HERE, has announced that his new musical, Billy and the Killers, will make its world premiere this November at HERE! Arts Center (located at 145 Sixth Avenue, New York, NY).

Prospect Theater Company has announced the lineup of performers for its 2017 Annual Gala event, 'Prospect at the Penthouse: Reaching New Heights,' to be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 from 6 - 10pm at Manhattan Penthouse (80 Fifth Avenue).

Prospect Theater Company (Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director / Melissa Huber, Managing Director) will present a new actor-musician workshop staging of Illyria on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 4pm and Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 7pm. Illyria features book, music, and lyrics by Peter Mills and is adapted from Shakespeare's Twelfth Night by Mills and Reichel.

Actor and musician David Rowen has produced a new music video for his YouTube channel, davidrowen/creative, featuring two classic songs from the early 2000s. He blends together the chart-topping piano ballad, 'A Thousand Miles,' by Vanessa Carlton, and the platinum punk anthem, 'Ocean Avenue,' by Yellowcard released in 2002 and 2003, respectively.

SPACE on Ryder Farm, a non-profit artist residency program located an hour north of New York City, hosted their first annual Farm in the City gala on October 24, 2016. If you're going to tell a story about a journey to hell and back then you need to have a reason. Some kind of moral or message or even just an engaging character that the audience can grab ahold of to root for success. Unfortunately the new musical “Jasper in Deadland”, currently at the 5th Avenue Theatre, offers none of those things. On top of that it fails to offer any kind of memorable or plot-moving songs leaving me to wonder who this show was written for since it obviously wasn't the audience.
