The Drinkwater Brothers have been working hard all their lives but the last seven months have been particularly special for the men who are taking the cabaret world by storm, right up to today, when their MAC Award nomination came out. Yes, the Drinkwaters are having a great year.

Artists appearing at Birdland Jazz Club include John Pizzarelli (The Swing 7 and Quartet), Steve Ross, Erena Terakubo and Nana Quintet, Leanne Borghesi & Marta Sanders, Constantine Maroulis, Michelle Lordi and David Berger Orchestra.

By Popular Demand, the Broadway at Birdland concert series presented the return of Julie Halston to the stage.  This special one-night-only event, entitled “Judge Julie Presiding” took place on February 3 at Birdland, located in the heart of Manhattan's Theater District.  The sold-out house was left helpless with laughter, thanks to Ms. Halston's rants, raves and readings!

Lianne Marie Dobbs brought her highly acclaimed show to The Green Room 42 last night. “Why Can't A Woman Be More Like A Man…? first premiered at The Beach Cafe and this enhanced version for the larger space was just as effective. Here's our report then which still holds true. Leanne had Ken Ard and Travis Poelle join her at the Green Room. Pianist Ron Abel supplied the highly effective arrangements.

Last night “Those Girls” celebrated Karen Mack's birthday at The Laurie Beechman with special guests Susie Mosher and Leslie Carrara-Rudolph who brought Lolly Lardpop and a special birthday message for Karen.

Rock and Roll couple Catherine Porter and Jim Vallance gather the gang for one night of his famous songs, her incomparable vocals, and some surprises for a happier than hell crowd of rock devotees at Birdland.

Natalie Douglas has extended her Broadway at Birdland residency with more “Tributes,” a monthly performance celebrating iconic singers.  This past Monday, she sang songs originally performed by the extraordinary Ella Fitzgerald, with Billy Stritch at the piano, Mark McLean on drums and Jonathan Michel on bass. 

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater are pleased to present the schedule for the month of February! At Birdland Jazz Club, catch the iconic Lionel Hampton Big Band Featuring Jason Marsalis, current GRAMMY nominee Catherine Russell, the Birdland debut of AGUAS Trio with Omar Sosa, Yilian Cañizares and Gustavo Ovalles, and iconic vocalist Jane Monheit. Internationally recognized trumpeter Rachel Therrien, the Seth Weaver Big Band, and The Voice contestant Melinda Rose Rodriguez will also be performing upstairs. 

Nora Palka is an actress/singer/songwriter and all-around ridiculous human with an instrument that has been described by the Washington Post as 'golden-voiced.' Since moving to NYC from DC a couple years ago, she's been seen doing live shows all over the city at venues like Duplex, Joe's Pub, Club Cumming, The Bell House, Rockwood, West End and Pianos charming the audiences with her original, comedic songs or wowing them with stunning vocals leaving the people wanting more!
