It's a whole new year with a whole new slate of fabulous theater coming to Seattle and the surrounding areas. So many exciting shows ready to thrill and astound us, make us laugh and cry. And so, I thought I'd let you in on the Top 10 shows coming up that I'm most excited about (actually 11 since I couldn't narrow it down to 10 but 'Top 10' sounded better) in chronological order.

Long Wharf Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Jacob G. Padron and Managing Director Joshua Borenstein, presents Miller, Mississippi, by Boo Killebrew, directed by Lee Sunday Evans, from January 9 through February 2, 2019.

PERFECT CRIME, the Off-Broadway 'whodunit' that just recently celebrated 31 years and 13,000 performances has announced that Dan Sharkey has joined the cast, as Lional, replacing Patrick Noonan in the role. The smart, funny and fast-paced thriller at the Anne L. Bernstein Theater in The Theater Center in Times Square (1627 Broadway) is the longest running play in NYC history and first opened in 1987 and its leading lady Catherine Russell has performed in all 13,000 performances - earning her a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records! 

The Dramatists Guild of America is the originator of the Dramatists Guild Fellows program, with a mission is to enhance the sense of community among developing American dramatists by offering a year-long workshop designed to augment their training with practical experience and career information resources.

Taylor Mac's Holiday Sauce, the latest installment of the artist's award-winning A 24-Decade History of Popular Music project, will return to The Town Hall in New York City for another skewering of the sacred and the secular today, December 11th at 8pm. A follow-up to its debut at The Town Hall in December 2017, the show explores Christmas as calamity, upending our yuletide traditions and celebrating the holiday in all of its dysfunction with the families you choose to love.

On this episode we discuss the first national tour of the Tony Award-winning Broadway smash COME FROM AWAY which opened its Los Angeles engagement on November 28th at the Ahmanson theatre... and we were there!!!

Vineyard Theatre Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern announce that the 2018 Susan Stroman Directing Award will be presented to Whitney White on Sunday, December 16 at The Vineyard's 2nd annual Open House from 3-7pm.

Celebration announced today, under the artistic direction of Michael A. Shepperd, its 2019 season of shows.  This is the Celebration's 37th season and the fourth in its home at the Lex Theatre, 6760 Lexington Ave. in Los Angeles.

Paper Mill Playhouse will present 'Holiday Inn' from November 21 through December 30. This spectacular musical has a book by Gordon Greenberg and Chad Hodge; choreography by Denis Jones; direction by Gordon Greenberg; and musical direction by Shawn Gough. Broadwayworld.com had the pleasure of interviewing Shawn Gough to chat about his career and the upcoming show.

Bay Area Musicals presents the musical CRAZY FOR YOU. Winner of the Tony and the Olivier Awards for Best Musical, CRAZY FOR YOU has wowed audiences on Broadway, the West End and around the world, reimagining classic Gershwin songs into a hilarious new book musical.  The show-stopping production will be an intimate version of the large-scale musical featuring the original Tony Award-winning choreography of Susan Stroman, recreated by Director/Choreographer Matthew McCoy.

The York Theatre Company honored Five-time Tony Award-winning musical theatre director/choreographer Susan Stroman with the 2018 Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre and Betty Cooper Wallerstein with the York Theatre Company Founders' Award at the 27th Oscar Hammerstein Award Gala last week at The Edison Ballroom.

As Drama majors, we are constantly looking ahead towards our professional futures. Every holiday has at least one cynical relative asking, "What are we going to do in the real world?" and, "When are we going to be on Broadway?" Whether that voice is from a family member or in your own head, we always seem to be clouded with thoughts of resumes and in search of a volunteer or performance opportunity to diversify our credits.

Then we join Will and Lara to review A Bronx Tale before we are joined by Theater reviewer and new WOB Ensemble member Melanie Hooks to talk about In a Booth at Chasen's running at The El Portal Theater and then we meet Elizabeth Lucin and Craig Sherman fill us in on the Color Purple playing at Greenway Playhouse!
