UH School of Theatre & Dance Announces 2010-2011 Season

Classic drama, contemporary comedies, a world premiere and even a western. The University of Houston's School of Theatre & Dance 2010-2011 performance season has something for everyone.

BACKBEAT Premieres at Citizens Theatre, 2/9

Full casting has been announced for the upcoming production of BACKBEAT at the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow. The production will be the onstage premiere of the musical adapation, based on the hit film about the Beatles. The cast will include Isabella Calthorpe and Andy Knott. Also Jamie Blackley, Oliver Bennett, Daniel Healy, Kate Hodgson, Patrick Lannigan, Alex Robertson and Charles Swift. The production will run from February 9th through March 6th.

TIC At Northwestern University Opens Its 2009/10 Mainstage Season In October With ARSENIC AND OLD LACE

To begin the 2009-10 Mainstage Season in October, the Theatre and Interpretation Center (TIC) at Northwestern University welcomes Tony Award-winning director Frank Galati with his production of the classic farce-comedy ?Arsenic and Old Lace,? featuring guest artists Dennis Zacek and John Mohrlein and award-winning Northwestern acting faculty Cindy Gold and Mary Poole as the sinister, but hilarious sisters.

Friends of The Abingdon Theatre present 'IT'S THE TALK OF THE TOWN' a Musical Tribute to Jerry Livingston on Wednesday, March 25th at 7:30pm at The Triad Theatre, 158 West 72nd Street (between Broadway & Columbus). This original musical revue conceived and directed by David Flora with musical director Julie Bearden features performers Kyle Gonyea, Jennifer Houston, Holli Leggett, Karen Paulemon and Robert Vest.

2009 Richard Rodgers Award Winners Announced

Winners of the 2009 Richard Rodgers Awards for Musical Theater were announced today by the American Academy of Arts and Letters, which administers the Rodgers Awards. They are: Cheer Wars by Karlan Judd and Gordon Leary Rosa Parks by Scott Ethier and Jeff Hughes

UC Berkeley Presents Georges Feydeau's SAUCE FOR THE GOOSE

UC Berkeley's Department of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies (TDPS) continues its 2008-09 Main Stage season with Georges Feydeau's Sauce for the Goose (Le Dindon), directed by Christopher Herold. The period production features scenic design by Giulio Perrone, costume design by Wendy Sparks, lighting design by David K.H. Elliott, and a cast of student actors from UC Berkeley. Sauce for the Goose will be performed in English (translation by Kenneth McLeish), with weekend performances from Friday, March 6 through Sunday, March 15 at the Zellerbach Playhouse on the UC Berkeley campus.

For the role of prolific nonfiction writer James Reston, Jr., the author of 13 books, including 'The Conviction of Richard Nixon: The Untold Story of the Frost/Nixon Interviews' (which recounts the author's time spent as the prime Watergate researcher on the Frost interview team), Howard would turn to Sam Rockwell.

Northwestern University Spring Theater and Dance Events

This spring, Northwestern University's department of theatre and the Theatre and Interpretation Center will present their final stage and dance productions of the 2007-08 Mainstage theatre season on the Evanston campus.
