October 6th through October 10th: British Columbia Tour For Bluegrass Grammy Nominee Claire Lynch  - With Her Canadian Band!

This fall, composer, vocalist, and mandolin virtuoso Chris Thile begins his season-long residency as holder of Carnegie Hall's 2018-2019 Richard and Barbara Debs Composer's Chair. Thile-a multiple Grammy Award winner and MacArthur Fellow-will be featured in a five-concert residency that spans the breadth of his musical endeavors, revealing the unique art of a performing composer as well as the evolution of collaborative composition.

Bluegrass Grammy nominee Claire Lynch will be touring Western Canada with her 'North' band, comprised of three of Canada's finest bluegrass musicians! The band are: Joe Phillips (upright bass, backing vocals), Shane Cook (fiddle), and, Darrin Schott (mandolin, acoustic guitars, backing vocals). 

Acclaimed singer, songwriter and performer, Tyler Childers, won “Emerging Artist of the Year” at last night's Americana Music Association Honors & Awards.

Shawn Colvin won her first Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album with her debut album, Steady On (1989). She has been a mainstay of the contemporary folk music scene ever since, releasing 12 superlative albums and establishing herself as one of America's greatest live performers. She triumphed at the 1998 Grammy Awards, winning both Record and Song of the Year for "Sunny Came Home."

Hot Rize, one of the most respected and influential bands in bluegrass music, is pleased to announce the release of their aptly named new record Hot Rize 40th Anniversary Bash, recorded live at Boulder Theatre, over the course of three sold out shows in January of this year. Hot Rize (Nick Forster on bass, Pete Wernick on banjo, Tim O'Brien on mandolin and fiddle, and Bryan Sutton on guitar) were joined by longtime musical friends Jerry Douglas, Stuart Duncan, and Sam Bush, treating Boulder to three nights of unforgettable music. “We wanted to have a party,” says Forster.  “We wanted to have a full-out bash!” And now, on August 3rd, celebrating the anniversary of the band's 40th year together, fans worldwide are musically invited to the party, as the band selecting 19 of the best of those unforgettable performances for the new record. On Monday, Relixreleased the video for “Colleen Malone,” Wernick commenting that he “ ...learned this touching and lyrical song from the writer himself, Pete Goble, on his bus one day at a festival in the 1980s. The band liked it right away and our version became Song of the Year in 1991. It already seems to have become a standard at bluegrass jam sessions.” Watch here.

Multiple Grammy Award-winning jazz pianist and world-renowned singer Diana Krall continues with the 4th North American leg of her international Turn Up The Quiet World Tour, including a stop in San Antonio, TX at the Majestic Theatre (224 E. Houston St.) on June 21, 2018 at 8PM. Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 26 at 11AM.

Today, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts announced that jazz singer and pianist Diana Krall will perform in Muriel Kauffman Theatre today, June 16. Krall comes to Kansas City as part of her Turn Up The Quiet World Tour 2018. This event is part of the 2017-2018 Kauffman Center Presents series, and is presented in partnership with Mammoth.

Acclaimed singer, songwriter and performer Tyler Childers will embark on an extensive, nationwide tour this fall with headline performances in his largest rooms and venues to date. Stops include Brooklyn's Brooklyn Bowl, Philadelphia's Union Transfer, Washington D.C.'s 9:30 Club, San Francisco's The Fillmore and L.A.'s The Troubadour among several others. Theatre Aspen announced casting for the organization's 35th Anniversary Season, which includes Ragtime, Godspell, and Our Town today. This season's productions promise to bring world class theatre dramatically closer by presenting talent from Broadway, national tours, and training programs from across the country.

The International Bluegrass Music Association's 5-Time Male Vocalist of the Year, Russell Moore, is proud to announce the addition of fiddle player Nathan Aldridge to his award-winning band, IIIrd Tyme Out, beginning in March. Nathan will replace Justen Haynes who left the band earlier this year to spend more time with his young family.

In 2017, she received an IBMA Distinguished Achievement Award. This year, she will be inducted into the Alabama Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame. With such accolades, it would be understandable if Louisa Branscomb chose to rest on her laurels at the comfort of her Alabama farm.
