Alison Fraser & Stephen Bogardus to Lead Reading of New Musical INTO THE WILD

?Rhinebeck Writers Retreat is presenting a reading of the new musical, INTO THE WILD, book and lyrics by Janet Allard and music and lyrics by Niko Tsakalakos, on June 13 in New York City for an invited industry audience. INTO THE WILD is based on the acclaimed best selling book by Jon Krakauer and "Back to the Wild" by the Christopher J. McCandless Foundation.

VINE OF THE DEAD Begins at The Invisible Dog This Month

Jim Findlay's VINE OF THE DEAD, a performance produced by Joel Bassin and Collapsable Giraffe, presented by The Invisible Dog Art Center, plays three performances only at The Invisible Dog, 51 Bergen St, Brooklyn, NY 11201, beginning today, May 26, and continuing through May 28, 2016 at 9 p.m.

Aishveryaa Nidhi's GANDHARI...IN SEARCH OF LIGHT to Play Hollywood Fringe

In a 60-minute solo act performance, artist and theatre personality Aishveryaa Nidhi promises to enact some of the unread, yet crucial, chapters of a woman's life who embraced darkness with open arms. Premiered at Sydney's most respected venue, National Institute of Dramatic Arts, Australia, the play 'GANDHARI...IN SEARCH OF LIGHT' is a quest for the woman hidden beneath glorious tales of heroes and wars.

BWW Review: ALL THE DAYS at McCarter Theatre Center

ALL THE DAYS is now playing at the McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton through May 29. The show brings to the fore the intricacies of tangled and dysfunctional family relationships with both drama and comedy.

19 Musical Theatre Writers Announced for This Summer's Rhinebeck Writers Retreat

Founding Executive Director Kathy Evans announced the 19 writers and 9 new musicals selected for this summer's Rhinebeck Writers Retreat residencies.  For nine consecutive weeks beginning June 26, each writing team will have a weeklong residency in Rhinebeck, New York to write their new musical. This year's writers include New York Drama Critics award winner Brian Crawley, Tony nominee Hunter Foster, 2016 Kleban award winner Daniel Goldstein, Susan Smith Blackburn finalist Michele Lowe, Arlen award winner Georgia Stitt, Fred Ebb award winner Adam Gwon, and New Dramatists Loewe Award winner Sarah Hammond. The 9 musicals were selected from among 95 applicants by a distinguished panel: Kent Nicholson of Playwrights Horizons, Donna Lynn Hilton of Goodspeed Musicals, Barbara Pasternack of Theatreworks USA, Steve Stettler of Weston Playhouse, Mara Isaacs of Octopus Theatricals, Drama Desk nominated composer Neil Bartram, and Robert Zukerman, former Director of Theatre at the New York State Council on the Arts. 

HSA Theatre Alliance to Present ONE MONKEY DON'T STOP NO SHOW

The Harlem School of Arts Theatre Department is launching One Monkey Don't Stop No Show a consistently hilarious, emotionally stirring and beautifully written satirical comedy directed by Artistic Director Alfred Preisser.

The Public Theater Extends Stew & Heidi Rodewald's New Musical THE TOTAL BENT

The Public Theater announced today that THE TOTAL BENT will extend one week through Sunday, June 19. With text by Stew and music by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, the team behind the Tony Award-wining musical Passing Strange, which premiered at The Public in 2003, this world premiere musical is directed by Joanna Settle. Performances begin today, Tuesday, May 10 with an official press opening on Wednesday, May 25.
