'Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration' will be held tonight, May 30 to honor and benefit the victims of last month's Boston Marathon bombing.

Joe Matarese's talent for turning his real life struggles into comedy has secured him roles in some of today's most sought-after television and radio shows alike. Matarese will take over the Comix stage for three performances at 8 p.m. nightly from Thursday, May 16 to Saturday, May 18. His Friday night show will be an especially uproarious performance, as he welcomes fans to witness a "Nasty Show with Joe Matarese."

Saturday Night Live's 'Weekend Update' anchor, Seth Meyers, will bring his comedic chops to the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods for a special performance on Saturday, June 22 at 8 p.m.

Comedian on-the-rise and current star of NBC's "Whitney," Chris D'Elia, will make his first appearance on the Comix stage with performances on Friday, Apr. 26 at 8 p.m. and a double header on Saturday, Apr. 27 with shows at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and are $25 for general advance admission ($35 the day of), while VIP advance admission tickets are $50 ($60 the day of). A two-drink minimum applies to all tickets. The show is 21+ and is for mature audiences only.

This March, audiences at DSI Comedy Theater will once again have an opportunity to crown the funniest person in North Carolina as it hosts Carolina's Funniest Comic. Now in its 6th year, this competition runs throughout the month of March. Shows are every Friday at 7:30 pm starting March 8. There will be added shows Thursday, March 7 at 7:30 pm and Friday, March 8 at 9 pm. Tickets to each round cost $12 and all shows run at DSI Comedy Theater, 200 N. Greensboro Street in the Carr Mill Mall between Elmo's and Southern Rail. The finals will be Friday, April 5 at 7:30 pm at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro. Three of Saturday Night Live's famed cast members will reunite on stage when they visit MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods for a special performance on Saturday, May 25 at 8 p.m. The lineup includes seven season veteran, Dana Carvey, who established some of the show's best known characters; Dennis Miller, who served as the “Weekend Update” correspondent for six seasons and Kevin Nealon, whose reoccurring role as an anchor on “Weekend Update” made the sketch a show staple. Fans will be welcomed to witness a "Nasty Show with Colin Kane" during his final uproarious performance.

Lines will be crossed and common decency will be left at the door during this final uproarious performance.

Last year, the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival began a partnership with the Carolina Theatre in Durham and partnered with the theatre to present two shows during last year's festival. Both shows were wildly successful and this year should prove to be no exception. Two of the festival's headliners are slated to take center stage at the Carolina Theatre on February 8 and February 10.
