The Last Night of Ballyhoo, by Alfred Uhry and directed by Steve Garfinkel, will take the stage at the Main Street Theater ? Rice Village, 2540 Times Blvd., Houston, TX 77005. The show will run from November 12 ? December 13, 2009, with previews November 7, 8, and 11. There will be no performance November 13. Performances will be held Thursdays at 7:30pm; Fridays & Saturdays at 8:00pm; Sundays at 3:00pm.

Main Street Theater's hit production of Clifford Odets' masterpiece Awake and Sing! is extending through June 14. Added performances are Sunday, June 7 at 7:30pm (this follows the already scheduled 3pm matinee that day), Saturday, June 13 at 8pm, and Sunday, June 14 at 3pm.

Main Street Theater adds an educational dimension to its programming with its new series of post-performance discussions with actors, directors, and theater experts. The talkbacks will follow the second Sunday matinee in each production's run.

Main Street Theater has been awarded a Musical Theater: Access to Artistic Excellence Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. MST is one of 29 theaters nationally to receive an award in Musical Theater in the first of two rounds of funding for 2009.
