Actress Laila Robins has seen Broadway, the big screen and the small screen. But lately she has poured her soul onto the off-Broadway stage and into her character 'Marian Apple Platt', a role she originated in 2010 as part of The Apple Family Plays: Scenes from Life in the Country. BroadwayWorld recently spoke with Robins about the challenges and joys of revisiting 'Marian' afresh and being part of the fictional, liberal Apple family of Rhinebeck, New York, whose actors have become like a family of their own.

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre presents Natural Affection by William Inge, the first production of the company's 21st Season. It will open on Friday, November 22, 2013 - the 50th Anniversary of JFK's assassination that shocked the world. The world premiere of the fourth and final play in this powerful and timely series will feature Maryann Plunkett (Barbara), Jay O. Sanders (Richard), Laila Robins (Marian), Jon Devries (Benjamin), Stephen Kunken (Tim), and Sally Murphy (Jane).

Michael Cerveris, Judy Kuhn & More to Lead FUN HOME at Public Theater; Full Casting Announced for Fall 2013 Season

Dorset Theatre Festival is thrilled to present Neil Simon's classic romantic comedy Barefoot in the Park as the third show in their summer season. 'This is a great comedy for our community. It's funny but it also has a lot of heart. It's romantic and appeals to audiences of all ages,' says Dina Janis, Artistic Director. The production will be directed by DTF resident director Jenn Thompson, co-Artistic Director of The Actors Company Theatre in NYC, and a local favorite for her past DTF productions, Noises Off and Boeing-Boeing.

Review - Nikolai and the Others & Pippin

One Chekhovian country house exits the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater and a new Chekhovian country house enters.  But Richard Nelson's Nikolai and the Others, enjoying an elegant staging by director David Cromer, is a more sober-minded effort than the venue's last tenant, Christopher Durang's Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike.
