ASF Presents MOONLIGHT AND MAGNOLIAS, MUCH ADO..., & JULIUS CEASAR

The 2011 Spring Repertory season at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival will include Ron Hutchinson's comedy Moonlight and Magnolias and Shakespeare's Much Ado about Nothing and Julius Caesar. Three 'Extreme Weekends' are available where all three shows can be seen in the same weekend on April 30 - May 1, May 7-8, and May 21 - 22.

Lyric Opera Presents THE DAUGHTER OF THE REGIMENT 2/19-2/27

The Lyric Opera of Kansas City continues its 53rd season with Donizetti's The Daughter of the Regiment. The Daughter of the Regiment will be performed in English. This will be the Company's final season in the Lyric Theatre. Beginning in the fall of 2011, the Lyric Opera will perform at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

The Lyric Opera of Kansas City continues its 53rd season with Donizetti's The Daughter of the Regiment. The Daughter of the Regiment will be performed in English. Photos: PHANTOM Celebrates 10,000th West End Show with Michael Crawford & Andrew Lloyd Webber!

On Saturday 23rd October, the cast of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA celebrated the show's 10,000th performance in the West End. The audience at today's matinee performance were treated to a special appearance from Andrew Lloyd Webber during the curtain call. Andrew said a few words thanking the audience for their support over the last 10,000 performances before introducing the original Phantom, Michael Crawford. Michael's appearance was accompanied by the familiar strains of The Music of the Night. Andrew and Michael were then presented with a cake to celebrate the landmark performance. Crawford will next be see starring as 'The Wizard' in Andrew Lloyd Webber's upcoming THE WIZARD OF OZ.

Totem Pole Playhouse Creates New Children's Theater Company 8/7

Totem Pole Playhouse has enjoyed a long tradition of live theatre in Franklin County, presenting six shows each summer and playing to over 30,000 patrons. Although most of the fare is light and family friendly, the offerings are not usually the type of entertainment that would capture the imagination of the very young theatergoer.

Brooklyn Seaside Summer Concert Series Features John Legend, 8/5

On Thursday, August 5, the 32nd annual Seaside Summer Concert Series at Asser Levy/Seaside Park, hosted by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, will welcome singer, songwriter and actor John Legend, who performed at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Concert Series in 2008. The Seaside Summer Concert Series at Coney Island and Martin Luther King, Jr. Concert Series in Crown Heights/Central Brooklyn have entertained hundreds of thousands of residents over the past three decades and remain the largest free concert series in the New York metropolitan area.

Asolo Rep Presents MANAGING MAXINE

Asolo Rep announces additional casting for award-winning Managing Maxine, Janece Shaffer's new play that takes a straight forward look at sex, love and life after 70. The cast features Howard Elfman as Louis, the role he originated last season in the world premiere of Managing Maxine at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta.
