Actress/singer Stephanie J. Block who recently starred on Broadway in The Boy From Oz, The Pirate Queen and 9 to 5: The Musical, as well as winning a Helen Hayes Award for playing Elphaba in the National Tour of Wicked, is about to open the new season on September 28 of Reprise Theatre Company co-starring with Jason Alexander in They're Playing Our Song. In our chat she talks about Song, Sondheim and other theatrical passions.

Michelle Federer (Wicked's Original Broadway Nessarose) spent Sunday, September 19th, mentoring the young talent of Broadway's future as she led a Wicked-themed master class with Broadway Artists Alliance of New York City. Federer inspired, as she skillfully guided a master class in 'Song Interpretation' to a group of eager and talented young performers ages 10 to 21. Students also spent time on cold readings and scene study utilizing scenes from Wicked. Michelle's morning class was followed by an advanced audition technique workshop with a top casting representative from Telsey and Co. Casting.

Scott Alan to Play Brisbane, 9/3

Composer Scott Alan will perform at the Harvest Rain Theatre Company's Powerhouse Theatre on September 3 at 7:30pm, the company has announced on its official website. In addition to Alan himself, the concert will feature musical theatre performers from Brisbane, who will perform Alan's songs.

Stephanie J. Block, Broadway star of '9 to 5: The Musical,' 'Wicked,' 'The Pirate Queen,' and 'The Boy From Oz,' will star opposite Jason Alexander, Artistic Director of Reprise Theatre Company, in 'They're Playing Our Song,' the opening production of the company's 2010-2011 season, playing September 28 to October 10 (press opening September 29) at UCLA's Freud Playhouse.

Scolari, D'Abruzzo, et al. Set for Off-Bway Premiere of Solms' 'IT MUST BE HIM,' 8/24

Producer Orin Wolf and Off the Aisle Productions have announced that It Must Be Him, a new comedy by Kenny Solms, co-creator and writer of the legendary, Emmy Award-winning 'Carol Burnett Show,' will premiere this summer at the Peter J. Sharp Theatre (416 West 42nd Street). Directed by Daniel Kutner, It Must Be Him will begin performances on Tuesday, August 24, and officially open on Wednesday, September 1. The limited engagement ends Sunday, September 26.

Erik Liberman To Star As Groucho In IN MOST RIDICULOUS THING YOU EVER HOID 9/31

ERIK LIBERMAN, who earned raves for his performance as 'Motel' opposite three theatrical legends - Topol, Harvey Fierstein and Theodore Bikel - in the 2009-2010 North American Tour of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, will star as 'Groucho Marx' in the New York Musical Theatre Festival's MOST RIDICULOUS THING YOU EVER HOID, playing September 31 through October 12 at Off-Broadway's Urban Stages.
