The Columbus Symphony Orchestra today announced the 2010 season lineup for its two annual summer outdoor concert series, the Nationwide Insurance Picnic with the Pops and Popcorn Pops. Tony Award-winning actress Sutton Foster returned to Broadway Artists Alliance to lead a master class in Song Interpretation. Ms. Foster worked one-on-one with each student, interpreting the lyrics and bringing out the best performance in each of them. Her down-to-earth personality and accessibility created a wonderful working environment.
Composer and Lyricist Scott Alan will return to London's West End on Saturday, March 13th, 2010, as he takes to the stage of the Prince of Wales Theatre's Delfont Room. This intimate concert will feature Scott Alan at the piano playing some of his most beloved songs from his CD's 'Dreaming Wide Awake,' and 'Keys,' as well as songs from his upcoming CD, 'What I Wanna Be When I Grow Up,' which he is currently in the studio recording with some of today's brightest Broadway and West End performers.
New details have been released regarding the upcoming national tour of the Broadway production 9 to 5: The Musical, opening at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center later this year. The show has been announced in the Chicago, Indianapolis and Atlanta markets. The tour will play Atlanta's Fox Theatre (presented by Theater of the Stars) in September of 2010, Clowes Hall in Indianapolis from January 11-16, 2011, and Broadway in Chicago's series from January 18-31, 2011. No venue in Chicago has been announced. Cast and creative team announcements are also forthcoming.
