Erik Liberman, who earned raves for his performance as "Motel" opposite three theatrical legends - Topol, Harvey Fierstein and Theodore Bikel - in the 2009-2010 North American Tour of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, will star as "Groucho Marx" in the New York Musical Theatre Festival's MOST RIDICULOUS THING YOU EVER HOID, playing September 31 through October 12 at Off-Broadway's Urban Stages.

RIDICULOUS... mines the uproarious, forgotten annals of the Marx Brothers' 1932-1933 radio show, "Flywheel, Shyster and Flywheel," for a new musical with book and songs by Andy Seiler, Jim Beckerman and Fred Wemyss, after the original broadcasts by Nat Perrin, Arthur Sheekman, George Oppenheimer and Tom McKnight. Donald Brenner (Lincoln Center's Ali Baba, Off-Broadway's December Fools, Miracle on 34th Street) directs.

LIBERMAN first portrayed the iconic comedian in the York's 2008 "Musicals in Mufti" remount of MINNIE'S BOYS. He is the recipient of a Helen Hayes Award for his role as "Charley" in Signature Theatre's MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG, and made his Broadway debut in Harold Prince's LOVEMUSIK. Most recently, he appeared opposite Stephanie J. Block in the Dan Kutner-directed MY AMERICAN FAMILY workshop.

Additional casting will be announced shortly. For more information, visit www.ridiculousthingthemusical.com or www.nymf.org.
