Multi award-winning stage directors Michael Grandage CBE and Mark Brokaw will participate in a special program and reception on Monday, February 13, 6 to 8 PM, co-hosted by The BritArts Committee of The St. George's Society of New York and the Drama Desk at the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Center, 31 West 52nd Street, in Manhattan. There will be introductions by Drama Desk Board Member Elysa Gardner, Theatre Critic for USA Today, and Gavin Henderson CBE, Principal, Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney is the event sponsor.

Between October 10 and December 2, any Palm Beach County public or private high school student can submit one original poem (30 lines maximum) for consideration. The winning poet will receive $100 and a pair of tickets to the eighth annual Palm Beach Poetry Festival, which will be held next January 17-21 at Old School Square in Delray Beach.

The Howard County Arts Council is pleased to announce that Howard County business leaders and supporters of the arts and education, Elizabeth and Peter Horowitz will serve as Honorary Hosts of the 14th annual Celebration of the Arts in Howard County. The Celebration gala, presented by the Arts Council, will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 6:00 - 10:00 pm at its new location The Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center. The Horowitz's will open the festivities by welcoming guests to the stunning arts wing at Howard Community College named in their honor. Bach and Robert Jeffrey, long-time Columbia residents and community leaders, will serve as Honorary Chairs for the Celebration of the Arts gala. Bach is a local dentist who enjoys painting and playing the piano. Bob is an arts enthusiast and accomplished financial advisor with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. The Jeffreys will be recognized on stage and present one of the Howie Awards. Richard W. Story, Executive Director of the Howard County Economic Development Authority, will emcee the program.
