The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, located at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street), presents the 2023-2024 season of Great Music in a Great Space. Under the direction of Kent Tritle, Director of Cathedral Music and Organist, this thirteenth season of choral, orchestral and organ performances encompasses a broad spectrum of repertoire, from chant and medieval organum to world premieres.
The many facets of Kent Tritle’s career are on prominent display in the 2023-24 concert season of the Director of Cathedral Music and Organist at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine; Music Director of both Musica Sacra, New York’s elite professional chorus, and Oratorio Society of New York, the acclaimed avocational ensemble; and organist of the New York Philharmonic.
The commissioned composers include: H. Leslie Adams, Clarice Assad, Eugenia Cheng, Tom Cipullo, Andrea Clearfield, Nell Shaw Cohen, Emily Doolittle, Melissa Dunphy, Emerson Eads, Marti Epstein, Kurt Erickson, Evan Fein, Daniel Felsenfeld, Julian Gargiulo, Jodi Goble, Stanley Grill, Daron Hagen, Juliana Hall, Ted Hearne, Felix Jarrar, Jennifer Jolly, Joseph Jones, James Kallembach, Lori Laitman, Libby Larsen, Cecilia Livingston, Gilda Lyons, James Matheson, Bess McCrary, Reinaldo Moya, Eric Pazdziora, Kala Pierson, James Primosch, Matthew Recio, Jessica Rudman, Kamala Sankaram, Myron Silberstein, Lauren Spavelko, Gylchris Sprauve, Dennis Tobenski, Jennifer Wang, Scott Wheeler, Philip Wharton, Ed Windels, and Lorna Young Wright.
The Leonia Chamber Musicians Society, Inc. will perform their second concert of the season, 'A Passion for Music', on Sunday, February 4, 2018. The performance starts at 4:00 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, located at 150 Park Avenue in Leonia, New Jersey.
