Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is doubling down on Broadway Bets, Broadway's official poker tournament, which will return for its second edition on Monday, May 16, 2016. The spirited annual event will welcome celebrities, industry insiders and poker-faced theatre fans to Sardi's Restaurant (234 West 44th Street), New York City's iconic theatre district restaurant.

CHICAGO, Broadway's longest running American musical, just held a celebratory cocktail reception today at New York City's The Palm Restaurant West Side location to officially launch the show's 20th anniversary year. Lead producer Barry Weissler addressed the crowd to toast the occasion and announce initiatives taking place over the next year in the lead-up to the official anniversary celebration and performance this November. It was announced today that James Charrington will join leading live entertainment marketing and advertising agency Dewynters as Chief Executive Officer on 11 April 2016. James will replace Bob King, outgoing CEO, who left on 1 March 2016 but will continue to work as a creative consultant to Dewynters until 31 August 2016. Anthony Pye-Jeary, co-founder of Dewynters, will stand down at the end of May 2016.

The world premiere musical HAMILTON,inspired by the book 'Alexander Hamilton' byRon Chernow, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and directed by Thomas Kail, has been extended three times at The Public due to sold-out demand and will close as scheduled on Sunday, May 3 prior to a Broadway transfer to the Richard Rodgers Theatre beginning July 13 and opening August 6. The producers of the upcoming Broadway reimagining of Side Show have revealed the production's alluring poster artwork, that features a portrait of leading ladies Erin Davie and Emily Padgett, and captures the show's blend of vintage show business with the uniquely cinematic aesthetic that comes from the vision of Academy Award® winner Bill Condon (Chicago, Dreamgirls, Twilight Breaking Dawn Parts 1 & 2). As previously announced, Mr. Condon is making his theatrical debut as director of Side Show, which opens on Broadway, this fall.
