With a set consisting of not much more than a few tables and chairs, Follies spins a story about four aging performers confronting the (literal) ghosts of their past.

Alex Jennings to Appear Live at the Siskel Film Center

Three-time Olivier Award winner Alex Jennings (Netflix's The Crown), in Chicago rehearsing for his upcoming role in the Tony Award-winning musical, The Light in the Piazza, at the Lyric Opera House Dec. 14-29, will make a special appearance at the Gene Siskel Film Center of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (164 N. State Street) following the National Theatre Live screening of the engrossing new work, Hansard, in which he co-stars with Olivier and Tony Award-winning actress Lindsay Duncan (Private Lives), Friday evening, December 6, at 7:45pm.  Jennings will be on hand afterwards to answer questions about his acclaimed Broadway, West End, and TV career.

Simon Woods Steps Down From The LA Phil

On behalf of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, Board Chair Jay Rasulo announced today that the Board has accepted Simon Woods' resignation from his position as Chief Executive Officer, David C. Bohnett Chief Executive Office Chair, of the Association, effective immediately.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic ushers in its 2019/20 season with three free neighborhood concerts across Los Angeles County this September: The Luckman Fine Arts Complex at Cal State LA on September 26; the Vic Lopez Auditorium, Whittier High School on September 27; and the Flo Hyman Auditorium, Morningside High School in Inglewood on September 28. The concerts will feature the LA Phil, led by Associate Conductor Paolo Bortolameolli, performing works by Richard Wagner, Duke Ellington, Aldemaro Romero, and Leonard Bernstein, plus LA Phil-commissioned works by Gabriela Ortiz and Paul Desenne.
