Photo Flash: First Look at THE COLOR PURPLE at Birmingham Hippodrome

The first images of Birmingham Hippodrome and Leicester Curve's production of Tony Award-winning Broadway production The Color Purple have been released, with T'Shan Williams set to take the role of Celie. This brand new production comes to Birmingham Hippodrome from 16th - 20th July 2019.

Casting Announced For Leicester Curve and Birmingham Hippodrome's THE COLOR PURPLE

Leicester's Curve and Birmingham Hippodrome today announce the full casting for their co-production of Oprah Winfrey's hit Broadway musical, The Color Purple, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker. The production, the first to be created outside of London in the UK, will play at Curve, Leicester from 28th June 13th July, followed by 16th 20th July at Birmingham Hippodrome, with a national press night at Curve on Wednesday 3rd July at 7pm.

The Crazy Coqs Presents Concert Series Announces Upcoming Lineup

The Crazy Coqs Presents Concert Series Live at Zedel is presented on the last Sunday of every month. Each show features 5, sometimes 6 West End performers singing songs based on the theme of the night. Past themes have included Classic Musicals, LGBT Musicals, Disney, A New Writers' Showcase, 80s Movie Songs and Pasek & Paul. Performers so far have included Tom Hier, Gemma Sutton, Carolyn Maitland, David Shannon, Rebecca Trehearn, Paul Monaghan, Andy Coxon, Lewis Asquith, Belinda Wollaston, Jane Milligan, Chloe Hart, Charlotte Wakefield, Charlotte Jaconelli, Edward Baruwa, Michael Vinsen, Nathaniel Morrison, Nadim Naaman, Oliver Savile, Lauren James Ray, Christina Bennington, Suzie Mathers, Sophie Isaacs, Simon-Anthony Rhoden, Claudia Kariuki, Vicki Lee Taylor, Matthew Croke and Danny Becker.

KINKY BOOTS West End to Be Filmed for Worldwide Screening, Donnelly & Henry Return to Cast

Original West End cast members Killian Donnelly and Matt Henry will return to play the roles of Charlie and Lola respectively.

The Crazy Coqs Presents: The Greatest Movie Songs Of The 80s

Launching in June 'The Crazy Coqs Presents' is a new monthly showcase each with a different them hosted by lyricist Mark Petty, one half of the transatlantic writing team of Anderson & Petty. Show themes so far have included 'Classic Songs from the Musicals', 'Pride at the Musicals', 'The Disney Show' and last month 'The New Musical Theatre Showcase' which featured new material from Anderson & Petty, Kansley & Lidert, Oliver Boito, Kate Marlais & Alex Young and Webborn & Finn. These concerts have featured the cream of the West End including Rebecca Trehearn, Christina Bennington, Oliver Savile, Nadim Naaman, Charlotte Wakefield, David Shannon, Carolyn Maitland, Andy Coxon, Jane Milligan, Chloe Hart, Charlotte Jaconelli and Edward Baruwa to name but a few.

BWW Interview: The KINKY BOOTS London Cast Talks Nostalgia, Audience Reaction and Acceptance

It's now three years since Kinky Boots strutted its way into the West End. Based on a true story, the show follows Charlie Price who turns his father's failing shoe factory into a success by making outrageous thigh-high boots, after a chance meeting with drag queen Lola. From Mid September, a new production heads off on tour around the country and 12 January 2019 will see the final West End Show.
