Light the Candles! Get the Ice Out! Blow the Bugle! The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, has announced Tony Award-nominee Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q), Christine Pedi (NEWSical the Musical), and Stephanie Umoh (Ragtime) will lead the parade of the special Summer 2017 Musicals in Mufti presentation of the hit Broadway revue Jerry's Girls.

Coming this fall, The School of Doing is a comprehensive guide to the craft and teachings of internationally renowned stage director and educator Gerald Freedman, including lessons on acting, directing, text analysis, comedy technique, camera technique, Shakespeare, musical theater, design, pedagogy, and show business.

Pulitzer Prize-winning lyricist Sheldon Harnick and his wife, photographer Margery Harnick, have just released their second book, Koi: A Modern Folktale. Their book captures the true beauty of this wonderful sea creature with stunning photographs by Margery and an enchanting Haiku by Sheldon. The authors will be appearing for a book signing and conversation at Book Culture.

Celebrating over 20 years of acclaimed musical theatre training for young thespians, the Centenary Stage Company's Young Performers Workshop returns to the Little Theater August 4 through August 13 with the annual Summer Festival of Shows.  These talented young thespians between the ages of 8 and 18 will present a variety of musical theater favorites including; The Robber Bridegroom, She Loves Me, Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr., Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs and the ever-popular One-Act Festival.

Margery Gray Harnick and Matt Harnick have joined their talents for photography with Sheldon Harnick's lyrical writing to publish 'Koi: A Modern Folktale', available today, June 21, 2017.

Sheldon Harnick wrote the words for the songs in Fiddler, The Rothchilds, and lyrics for many other historic tunes, but he also wrote the words in a new book of photographs by his wife Margery Gray and son Matt Harnick.  The book was launched at a party attended by lots of his Broadway friends at TAO  in NYC and Broadwayworld was there.  Like his songs, the photographs in KOI are a thing of beauty and create wonderful feelings.
