There is one undeniable quality that HAIRSPRAY has retained as it has journeyed from the big screen to the stage, back to the big screen, and now to the small. The infectious excitement and optimism that Tracy Turnblad sings with in the opening number, 'Good Morning Baltimore,' is one of the most magical and important gifts that the musical theatre has given in recent decades. From the moment that the original musical burst onto Broadway in 2002, it has been a literal and figurative rainbow of joy and happiness, and fortunately for the show's legions of fans, directed by Tony-winner Kenny Leon, NBC's live adaptation has maintained every delightful ounce of the musical's giddy goodness.

Fourteen years after appearing in the original Broadway production of Hairspray, dancer/choreographer Judine Somerville, will reprise her role as one of The Dynamites in the NBC live presentation of the musical, which will air on December 7 at 8/7c.

Tony and Grammy Award-nominated Michael McElroy and Broadway Inspirational Voices release the fifth video in their 'Broadway Our Way' series, featuring 'You Can't Stop the Beat' from the musical HAIRSPRAY. In tribute to NBC's live version airing on December 7th, BIV offers its voice to this joyful anthem - check it out below!
