SCERA is inviting its audiences to take a charming candy-filled journey to see Willy Wonka and his amazing chocolate factory when SCERA favorite Shawn Mortensen takes the reins-most likely made of licorice-and stars in the one hour Theatre for Young Audiences version of Roald Dahl's "Willy Wonka" beginning Oct. 17 and running through November 4, with shows on Monday and Fridays evenings at 7:00pm.

The SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre turns 32 years old this year and will celebrate with a 2016 summer season under the stars packed with concerts, musicals and outdoor movies.  Most performances will begin at 8 p.m.

When SCERA Center for the Arts presents 'Saturday's Warrior' as the final show of its indoor season, it will play homage to a musical that became a cultural phenomenon and changed the face of Mormon theatrical works more than 40 years ago.

The story of a boy named Peter Pan who refuses to grow up has delighted audiences since Scottish writer J.M. Barrie wrote about the mischievous boy who can fly and have adventures in a mythical island called Neverland. That was more than a century ago, but the appeal has never dimmed. The story has been converted to animation, a dramatic film, a television series and other works.

For seven years the SCERA Center for the Arts has done its part to chase away the winter doldrums with a lively and energetic show called A Night of Broadway. And to make it even more spirited, it is adding a rock 'n roll spin this year by featuring rocking music across six decades.

Captivated by the music and compelled by the story, director Kathryn Little is delighted to take on the spellbinding musical drama 'The Secret Garden' as the culminating stage production for SCERA's national award-winning high school company, Acting Up.

'The Addams Family' musical has an original story. The devilishly delightful family has a dilemma. Daughter Wednesday, the ultimate princess of darkness, has fallen in love with a sweet and smart young man from a respectable family. She wants her family to behave as if they were normal, too, when they meet him and his parents. But if you're peculiar, you're peculiar, and mayhem results when the Addams clan tries to host a family that, as it turns out, also has its own brand of dysfunction.
