A songwriter's songwriter, Pierce Pettis is back with his first new studio album in nearly a decade with FATHER'S SON, out January 18 on Compass Records. You can listen to the opening track,'Wouldn't Change It For the World,' HERE. Featuring 10 tracks, including a cover of Jesse Winchester's “A Showman's Life,” the Alabama songwriter writes about friends he's lost, childhood memories, and the relationships he's experienced both as a son and a father on these deeply moving, literate songs. FATHER'S SON, reuniting Pettis with producer Garry West, was recorded “live on the floor, with the band, with minimal overdubs, to capture the energy and authenticity of Pierce's performances.”

Songwriter and ex-Broadway singer Brooke Moriber has released the title track of her upcoming Cry Like A Girl LP, recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, with legendary producer Fred Mollin (Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Shawn Colvin) at the helm. The song is a powerful country-pop cut that showcases Brooke's powerhouse vocal delivery and lyrics that challenge what it means to 'cry like a girl'.

ISLE of KLEZBOS, the swinging all-women's klezmer sextet, will celebrate their 20th Anniversary with a special concert Isle of Klezbos: Isle of Manhattan! at Joe's Pub on Today, October 25 at 7:00 PM featuring returning guest artist Natalia Zukerman. The band and spellbinding singer-songwriter - whose father, the classical violinist Pinchas Zukerman, is the son of a Polish-born klezmer player - first melded musical minds earlier this year, exploring poignant Yiddish roots and hidden gems from vintage soundtracks, personal histories, vivid resistance narratives, and soulful sounds of liberation. Spreading joy coast to coast this anniversary year, ISLE of KLEZBOS  latest repertoire also features original klezmer bugalu (boogaloo), lesser-known bawdy traditionals, and luscious retakes on irresistible Eastern European swing and tango. Natalia brings vibrant stories and tunes from her powerful multi-media performance, "The Women Who Rode Away," including lush arrangements with backing Klezbos bandmates. This series of four FREE experiential workshops for high school students through adults, features skilled and celebrated professional artists in a variety of disciplines.

Hide the Moon and the Stars, the sublime new duo recording from pianist Bryn Roberts and guitarist Lage Lund, isn't the kind of jazz album that needs to be read about before it can be understood and enjoyed. It didn't premiere as part of a postmodern opera or multimedia performance; there isn't an overarching concept gleaned from abstract expressionism or the poetry of Rumi. Rather, with its casually stunning interplay and lyrical original music, it's “simply a good showcase for these two particular players, these two voices, these two musical personalities who've been friends for over a dozen years,” Roberts says.

As Lyle Lovett takes the stage for his 21st show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the venue has announced Lovett's induction into the Red Rocks Hall of Fame. The venue occasionally inducts performers who have particular longevity or importance in the venue's history and Lovett is the sole honoree this year.

Shawn Colvin won her first Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album with her debut album, Steady On (1989). She has been a mainstay of the contemporary folk music scene ever since, releasing 12 superlative albums and establishing herself as one of America's greatest live performers. She triumphed at the 1998 Grammy Awards, winning both Record and Song of the Year for "Sunny Came Home."
