TFANA's 40th Anniversary Season Features Will Eno, Samuel Beckett, and More

Theatre for a New Audience founding artistic director Jeffrey Horowitz, having just received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2019 OBIEs, today announces TFANA's 40th anniversary season. The 2019-2020 programming exemplifies what makes TFANA, in the words of the OBIE committee, one of the city's most vital institutions championing adventurous and urgent productions of Shakespeare alongside other writers.

WIZARD OF OZ Jazz Musical Extends Through January 11, 2020 at Harlem Repertory Theater

'The Wizard of Oz: A Jazz Musical for All Ages,' presented by Harlem Repertory Theater (HRT) and Yip Harburg Foundation, has been extended through January 11, 2020 due to continuing and steady audience interest. The production has played since October 8, 2016 at Tato Laviera Theatre, 240 East 123rd Street (near 2nd Ave.), Manhattan, and has previously been extended seven times.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Co's Free Shakespeare in the Park Tour Starts Next Week

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's 2019 FREE Shakespeare in the Park Tour opens next week on Friday June 21! This year's tour has over 40 performance stops (and growing). The popular Shakespeare titles, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Macbeth will be presented.  These performances are FREE and open to the public.

Chicago Shakespeare Presents THE WIZARD OF OZ All Summer Long On Navy Pier

This summer, Chicago Shakespeare Theater presents the 75-minute musical stage adaptation of the timeless 1939 MGM film The Wizard of Oz, directed by Brian Hill and choreographed by Kenny Ingram. Based on the landmark novel by L. Frank Baum and featuring music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg, The Wizard of Oz promises to be the perfect outing for audiences of all ages at Chicago Shakespeare's home on Navy Pier all summer long, July 6-August 25, 2019 with performances on Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. and Thursdays-Sundays at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Elm Street Presents THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF AMERICA (ABRIDGED)

Starting June 28th Elm Street Cultural Arts Village gets historical with the opening night of The Complete History of America (Abridged), a comedic rendition of American history written by Adam Long, Reed Martin, and Austin Tichenor. With 600 years of history in 6000 seconds, history will never be the same! This play utilizes humor to tackle a variety of questions: Who really discovered America? Why did Abe Lincoln free the slaves? How many Democrats does it take to screw in a lightbulb? The answers won't be what you're expecting.

A Weekend Of Shakespeare Announced At Saugatuck Expo

The West Michigan-based Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company will make its first appearance at the Saugatuck Expo on June 28 through 30, with a full weekend of Shakespeare performances. Saugatuck Expo is a month-long celebration of the arts, presented by the Saugatuck/Douglas Area Convention and Visitors' Bureau.

Judith Light Joins Season Two of MANHUNT

S&Co Presents TWELFTH NIGHT

Shakespeare & Company presents William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, directed by Company Artistic Director, Allyn Burrows. This classic showcases a rich, affecting, and deeply funny story of longing, love, and laughter which paints Shakespeare at his peak.
