The nominees for the 2018 Helen Hayes Awards were announced on February 5, 2018. One of the country's most prestigious cultural honors, The Helen Hayes Awards recognizes and celebrates excellence in professional theatre throughout the Washington metropolitan area. The National Theatre's Helen Hayes Gallery set the scene for the announcement of nominees in 47 categories for artistic excellence, and the theatre companies eligible for the 2017 John Aniello Award for Outstanding Emerging Theatre Company. The recipient of the 2018 Helen Hayes Tribute will be announced shortly.

???????Roberto Araujo is set to join GALA Hispanic Theatre's production of In The Heights as Piragua Guy from tonight, May 25 to May 28.

GALA Hispanic Theatre has announced that  Roberto Araujo (In the Heights, West Side Story, Evita, Les Miserables) will join the cast of the US Premiere of In the Heights, for the extension starting May 25 to May 28. 

Directed and choreographed by Luis Salgado, the U.S. premiere of the Spanish-adaptation of IN THE HEIGHTS reminds audiences of the importance of family and to celebrate who they are. Universal themes of hope and pride are exemplified in the music and lyrics expertly crafted by Lin-Manuel Miranda and brought to life by the diverse cast at GALA Hispanic Theatre.

Celebrated singer / actor Domingo Quiñones returns to the stage tonight to star in the hit Off-Broadway musical I Like It Like That, taking over the role of Roberto, originated by Grammy nominee Tito Nieves. Quiñones will team up again with writer/producer David Maldonando who worked together on ¿Quien Mato a Hector Lavoe?. I Like It Like That is written by David Maldonado & Waddys Jaquez and directed by Waddys Jaquez and now run through the end of January, 2017.
