Roberto Araujo Joins the Cast of GALA Theatre's IN THE HEIGHTS

GALA Hispanic Theatre has announced that Roberto Araujo (In the Heights, West Side Story, Evita, Les Miserables) will join the cast of the US Premiere of In the Heights, for the extension starting May 25 to May 28.

Araujo will reprise the role of the Piragua Guy, in which he was last seen at Axelrod Theatre in NJ.

The production was directed by Original cast member and Latin assistant choreographer Luis Salgado.

In the Heights has a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes and music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The original Broadway production opened in 2008 and won the Tony Award for Best Musical.

The cast includes Juan Luis Espinal, Laura Lebron, Verónica Álvarez Robles, Vaughn Ryan Midder, Michelle Ríos, Rafael Beato, Scherezade Quiroga, Gabriella Pérez, Shadia Fairuz, José Fernando Capellán, Felix Marchany and Myriam Gadri.
