2015 Sydney Theatre Awards Nominations Announced

Nominations were announced today for the Sydney Theatre Awards for 2015, which will be presented at a gala ceremony on Monday January 18, 2016 at 6pm at the Paddington RSL.

Tampa Repertory Theatre to Present TRUE WEST

Tampa Repertory Theatre will present Sam Shepard's bracing comedy True West at Studio 120 on the University of South Florida campus January 7 through 24, 2016. Performances are at 7:30 PM on Thursdays, 8 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 PM on Sundays. Studio 120 is located at 3837 USF Holly Drive, Tampa 33620, where ample free parking is available during performances. Patrons may purchase tickets at the door or from a link on TampaRep's website at http://www.tamparep.org.

2Cents Theatre's DEN OF THIEVES Opens in January

2Cents Theatre, the producers of the critically-acclaimed productions of the hit musicals Rent and Fugitive Songs is thrilled to present DEN OF THIEVES, written by 2015 Pulitzer Prize winning author Stephen Adly Guirgis and directed by Eric Augusztiny. DEN OF THIEVES will preview on Saturday, January 9 at 8pm & Sunday, January 10 at 7pm and will open on Friday, January 15 and run through Sunday, February 7 at the Hudson Guild Theatre, 6539 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood.

The Gamm to Stage GRIZZLY MAMA

The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) opens the new year with the New England premiere of Grizzly Mama by award-winning playwright George Brant (Grounded, Gamm 2014). With biting humor and shocking twists, Brant's timely play explores political extremism from both sides of the aisle. Rachel Walshe (Marie Antoinette) directs Gamm Resident Actor Casey Seymour Kim as Deb Marshall, a newly feminist homemaker with a death wish for her neighbor, an ultra-conservative political candidate; with Amanda Ruggiero as Deb's apathetic teenager, Hannah, and Betsy Rinaldi as her adversary's celebrity daughter, Laurel.

ALADDIN's Adam Jacobs Will Release Album of Alan Menken Music on 12/13

Adam Jacobs, currently starring as Aladdin in Disney's Aladdin on Broadway, is releasing his debut solo album entitled 'Right Where I Belong,' a compilation of songs by Tony Award® and eight-time Oscar® winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, Aladdin). Featured on the album will be well known tunes such as 'Proud of Your Boy' (Aladdin), 'Go The Distance' (Hercules), 'Santa Fe' (Newsies), and 'Suddenly Seymour' (Little Shop of Horrors, in duet with Jacobs' sister Arielle Jacobs), as well as other melodies from Menken's earlier works.

Leads Announced for 2016 Production of HAIR at Kravis Center's Rinker Playhouse

 Marcie Gorman-Althof and Michael Lifshitz, the producing partners behind MNM Productions, today announced that that they have cast the three major roles in the world's most famous tribal rock musical HAIR, which will run for three previews and 20 performances at the Kravis Center's Rinker Playhouse in West Palm Beach, starting on Friday, May 20, 2016, following two previews.

New MISS SAIGON National Tour Plans Dallas Engagement

Cameron Mackintosh announced on November 19 that his acclaimed new production of Boublil and Schonberg's legendary musical MISS SAIGON - a smash hit in London since its premiere there in May, 2014 - will open on Broadway in the spring of 2017 at a Shubert theater to be announced.  The Broadway return of MISS SAIGON will feature its acclaimed London stars, Filipino-born and L.A. resident Jon Jon Briones as The Engineer and 19 year-old North Carolina native Eva Noblezada as Kim, who was discovered by the MISS SAIGON casting team at the National High School Musical Awards two years ago in New York.   First performance and opening night dates will be announced at a later date.

BWW Review: LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS Stuns with Talent

After thinking a while about what funny pun with plant terminology I could use to describe exactly how I felt about the musical Little Shop of Horrors, now playing at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center at Notre Dame for the weekend, I realized the only appropriate words are found in the title above.

MISS SAIGON National Tour to Open at PPAC in the Fall 2018

A major North American tour of MISS SAIGON will launch in the fall of 2018 at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) in Providence, RI. The Providence Performing Arts Center has been privileged to launch eleven National Tour since 2008.
