American Blues Theater concludes its 2017-2018 Season with BUDDY - The Buddy Holly Story, written by Alan Janes, directed by Lili-Anne Brown, with musical direction by Ensemble Member Michael Mahler. BUDDY - The Buddy Holly Story runs April 27 - May 26, 2018 at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago. The official press opening is today, May 4, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, May 15 at 6:30pm, the Peterborough Players, in partnership with the Peterborough Community Theatre, present a special screening of the award-winning film, CAPOTE starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Truman Capote) and Catherine Keener (Harper Lee), at the Peterborough Community Theatre.

Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's "Little Shop of Horrors" is one of those enduring classics of American Musical Theatre thanks, in no small part, to its quirky, twisted take on the worldview. Well it's about to get a whole new view as Reboot Theatre Company is taking this Sci-Fi thriller of a musical about a man-eating plant and shaking it up even further by giving it a genderqueer cast (something their company loves to do). I recently sat down with their Audrey, Seattle renowned drag queen Tipsy Rose Lee, to talk about her career and her upcoming dalliance with that carnivorous plant.

Little Shop of Horrors was a great experience, especially for someone who knew absolutely nothing about the show. The entire cast made the experience so enjoyable, leaving the audience laughing after almost every scene.

Singer-songwriter/guitarist Brooke Annibale announced today the release of her new single 'Hold On' off her third full-length album Hold To The Light. Set to release on June 8th, Hold To The Light marks Annibale's return following her 2015 critically acclaimed album The Simple Fear and features several major departures in terms of both songwriting and production. Annibale sheds a bit of her indie-acoustic skin and introduces a new pop-progressive direction offering a fusion of textured electronic and traditional instrumentation centered around Brooke's stunning voice and keen, soulful lyricism. 'Hold On' is now available on Spotify, iTunes, and all other DSPs.
