Bucks County Playhouse, under the direction of Robyn Goodman and Alexander Fraser, is pleased to announce a newly expanded lineup of education programs being offered this fall for children, teens, and adults. New programming this fall includes a three-part Musical Theatre Writing workshop taught by "Cake Off" composer Adam Gwon, running at the Playhouse August 19 - September 10, and the Saturday Musical Theatre program for children, back by popular demand, among many others!

Springfield's City Mosaic will present free performances of Double Edge Theatre's Springfield Spectacle September 23 & 24 in Forest Park.

Michael Alden Productions presents the New York premiere of NOT THAT JEWISH, written and performed by Emmy Award-winning and Golden Globe nominated writer and comedian Monica Piper (Writer of Roseanne, Mad About You, Rugrats) and directed by Mark Waldrop (Howard Crabtree's When Pigs Fly, Bea Arthur on Broadway: Just Between Friends).

The highly anticipated Broadway premiere of the original musical Dear Evan Hansen begins previews on Monday, November 14, 2016 and will officially open at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street) on Sunday, December 4, 2016. Today Keen Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein announced that the upcoming revival of Jonathan Larson's Tick, Tick...BOOM! will be staged at the larger Acorn Theater at Theater Row in order to accommodate the overwhelming demand.

The Drama Book Shop will welcome producers Tom Kirdahy and Devlin Elliott for a discussion about the new off-Broadway sensation White Rabbit Red Rabbit. Playwright Nassim Soleimanpour will Skype into the conversation. The event, which is free to the public, will take place this Wednesday, August 24th at 5:00PM. 

Playwrights Horizons has announced complete casting for A LIFE, the world premiere of a new play by Obie Award winner Adam Bock (A Small Fire and The Drunken City at Playwrights, The Receptionist, The Thugs, Swimming in the Shallows). Directed by two-time Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman (Marjorie Prime, Detroit, Maple and Vine at Playwrights; You Got Older; Belleville; This Wide Night; Smokefall), A LIFE will be the second production of the theater company's 2016/2017 Season.

The Public Theater announced today that the New York Premiere of SWEAT by Lynn Nottage has been extended one week.

Windy City Playhouse, offering Chicago's most sophisticated theatergoing experience, has announced its third and edgiest season yet, featuring the Chicago premiere of Robert O'Hara's wild coming-of-age story Bootycandy to be directed here by the playwright, himself, starting performances January 25; the Chicago premiere of Fernanda Coppel's gripping feminist tale King Liz, directed by local favorite Joanie Schultz, starting May 24; and Gina Gionfriddo's dark comedy Becky Shaw, directed by Jeff Award-winning director Scott Weinstein, beginning September 20.

The Play Company (PlayCo), led by Founding Producer Kate Loewald and Executive Producer Lauren Weigel, presents the New York premiere of Christopher Chen's Caught (August 17-September 17), the final production in the company's 15th Anniversary Season.

Classic Stage Company (Artistic Director John Doyle and Managing Director Jeff Griffin) announced today that Jason Sudeikis will star as John Keating in the world premiere of Dead Poets Society, a new play based on the beloved 1989 film. Written by Academy Award winner Tom Schulman, adapted from his screenplay, and directed by John Doyle, Dead Poets Society is set at a rigorous all-boys preparatory school renowned for its ancient traditions, where the unconventional Professor Keating inspires his students to defy conformity, and to live passionately. Performances for Dead Poets Society will begin Thursday, October 27 at CSC (136 East 13thStreet) with an official press opening Thursday, November 17. Additional casting will be announced in the coming weeks.

Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Song Salon will offer a special presentation with four rising Broadway talents - Sam Davis (An American in Paris), Daniel May (Flower Drum Song), Rashidra Scott (Sister Act), and A.J. Shively (Bright Star) - who will explore the art of musical orchestrating and arranging.

For the second year in a row, Forward Flux will present two new plays in the same theatre, allowing audiences to choose one, or see both in one night with show times at 7pm and 9pm. Each play runs around 75mins with no intermission (as it should be).

After a successful concert solo debut, Anneliese van der Pol returns to Feinstein's/54 Below, celebrating the music and artists that have inspired her, performing a wide array of styles: Barbra Streisand to Joni Mitchell, classics to pop, and the Broadway tunes that influenced and shaped her into the performer she is today!

Just announced, Second Stage Theatre's New York Premiere production of NOTES FROM THE FIELD: DOING TIME IN EDUCATION, the latest work created, written and performed by groundbreaking theatre artist Anna Deavere Smith with music composed and performed by Marcus Shelby and directed by Leonard Foglia, will open on November 2, 2016 at the Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd Street). Previews will begin on October 15.

Carly J. Bauer Productions and Mark Brystowski in association with the Untitled Theatre Collective has announced that it will stage a revival of Leslye Headland's pitch-black comedy BACHELORETTE - and in doing so, transform elements of Walkerspace into a hedonistic hotel. BACHELORETTE made its world premiere at Second Stage Uptown and subsequently inspired the hit film produced by Will Ferrell & Adam McKay. It will run Thursday, September 8 through Saturday, September 17 at Walkerspace, 46 Walker St. in Manhattan. Hannah T. Wolff will direct. www.bacheloretteplay.com
