Artists Repertory Theatre, in collaboration with Staged!, presents A CIVIL WAR CHRISTMAS: AN AMERICAN MUSICAL CELEBRATION for the holidays.

La Jolla Playhouse, nationally-renowned for the development of new work, announces four world-premiere productions for the 2017/2018 season, including the previously-announced Escape to Margaritaville (May/June), featuring the songs of legendary singer-songwriter-author Jimmy Buffett and an original story by co-book writers Greg Garcia ('My Name Is Earl') and Mike O'Malley ('Survivor's Remorse,' 'Shameless'), directed by La Jolla Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley (Come From Away, Memphis).

The Archway Theatre has announced that it will present a 2017 season of eight major productions ranging from great classics such as 'Cyrano de Bergerac,' to an original adaptation of the classic modern horror masterpiece, 'Night of The Living Dead.'

Two comic Chekhov shorts The Bear and The Proposal will be directed by Lucy J Skilbeck Dael Orlandersmith's incisive drama Yellowman will be directed by Nancy Medina Skilbeck and Medina are the winners of Genesis Future Directors Awards for 2017 

Set sail on an epic adventure this holiday season with a dramatically reimagined production of Moby Dick. Adaptor and director David Catlin brings his daring new adaptation of the classic seafaring tale to Arena Stage, using bold trapeze and acrobatic work to bring to life Captain Ahab's harrowing quest for the legendary great while whale.

Rehearsals have begun for AMERINDA (American Indian Artists) Inc.'s production of William Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale, directed by Madeline Sayet (Mohegan, with new songs written by Ty Defoe (Oneida/Ojibwe), previews begin Dec 2nd. 

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDC Foundation), the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), announces that acclaimed Director Kenny Leon will be honored with the distinguished 2016-2017 'Mr. Abbott' Award for the outstanding artistry and creativity of his forty-year (and counting) career.

Classic Stage Company presents Dead Poets Society, a new play based on the beloved 1989 film, starring Jason Sudeikis as John Keating. Performances for Dead Poets Society celebrates its official press opening tonight, November 17, at CSC (136 East 13th Street) and will play a limited engagement extended through Sunday, December 18.

Vertigo Theater Company presents the world premiere of STREET CHILDREN, written by Pia Scala-Zankel and directed by Jenna Worsham. STREET CHILDREN runs from November 30 - December 17, 2016 in a limited engagement at New Ohio Theatre, located at 154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets in New York City. With tickets to The 5th Avenue Theatre's highly-anticipated holiday production of Disney's The Little Mermaid (November 23 - December 31, 2016) in high demand, the nation's leading developer of musical theater is working to increase accessibility to affordable tickets for arts buyers, now and throughout the 2016/17 season.

Atlantic Records and Dear Evan Hansen producer Stacey Mindich announced today that the Original Broadway Cast Recording of the new musical Dear Evan Hansen will be released on Atlantic Records this winter.

Detroit Public Theatre will bring the regional premiere of Colman Domingo's Dot to Detroit November 16 - December 11.

Dear Evan Hansen, the new musical with a book by Obie Award-winner Steven Levenson, score by Tony Award nominees Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, and direction by three-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif, just began performances on Broadway last night, November 14, at the Music Box Theatre (239 W 45th St). Dear Evan Hansen will officially open on Sunday, December 4, 2016.

The Public Theater presents TINY BEAUTIFUL THINGS, based on the acclaimed book by best-selling author Cheryl Strayed and adapted for the stage by Academy Award-nominated writer Nia Vardalos, with direction by Thomas Kail. This richly funny, uplifting new show is co-conceived by Marshall Heyman, Thomas Kail, and Nia Vardalos and will also feature Vardalos as the anonymous online advice columnist 'Sugar.'

The Public Theater presents the New York Premiere of PARTY PEOPLE by UNIVERSES (Steven Sapp, Mildred Ruiz-Sapp, and William Ruiz a.k.a Ninja). Developed and directed by Liesl Tommy with choreography by Millicent Johnnie, PARTY PEOPLE began performances on November 1 and runs through Sunday, December 4, with an official press opening tonight, November 15.

Second Stage Theatre will host a special post-performance conversation between Anna Deavere Smith and The Atlantic journalist and New York Times bestselling author, Amanda Ripley, one of the interview subjects Ms. Smith portrays in her acclaimed new work, NOTES FROM THE FIELD.

Due to popular demand, the Signature Theatre production of The Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World AKA the Negro Book of the Dead, by Pulitzer Prize-winner Suzan-Lori Parks and directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, has been extended an additional week. The production will now run through December 18, 2016 at The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). 

Due to extremely high ticket demand, Anna Deavere Smith's critically acclaimed new work, NOTES FROM THE FIELD, will extend for one week and will now play through Sunday, December 18th at Second Stage Theatre (305 West 43rd Street). The production, directed by Leonard Foglia and featuring original music composed and performed by Marcus Shelby, opened to rave reviews on November 2nd and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, December 11th.
