Everyone is a suspect in Murder for Two, a hilarious musical mystery with a twist:  one actor investigates the crime, and the other plays all the suspects. And they both play piano!  This rollicking piece begins a 5-week run at Stage West on Thursday, November 17.  

OBERON, the American Repertory Theater's (A.R.T.) second stage and club theater venue on the fringe of Harvard Square, announces events to be presented at OBERON during November and December - including OBERON Presents, Visiting Artists, and Usual Suspects.

Lookingglass Theatre Company continues its Season with Mr. and Mrs. Pennyworth, written and directed by Ensemble Member Doug Hara. Mr. and Mrs. Pennyworth runs December 7, 2016 - February 19, 2017.

"Murder for Two," the Off-Broadway and regional theater musical mystery sensation, takes on a decidedly holiday glow when it is transformed into "Murder for Two: Holiday Edition" in a world-premiere production at Bucks County Playhouse, December 9 - 31. 

Rep Stage, the regional theatre in residence at Howard Community College (HCC), continues its 24th season with Bess Wohl's "American Hero," directed by Suzanne Beal.

Second Stage Theatre's New York Premiere production of NOTES FROM THE FIELD: DOING TIME IN EDUCATION, the latest work created, written and performed by groundbreaking theatre artist Anna Deavere Smith with music composed and performed by Marcus Shelby and directed by Leonard Foglia, opens tonight, November 2, 2016 at the Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd Street).

A gripping struggle to hold on to morality during the hardest of times. Experience Felix Mitterer's enthralling drama based on the life and death of Franz Jagerstatter (1907-1943), an Austrian farmer who refused to fight on behalf of Hitler because of his faith, morals and ideals. Mitterer depicts Franz, who was beatified by Pope Benedict XVI in 2007, as a courageous but insecure human being - and not at all as a saint.  

The Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Programs continue their season with We Go Round and Round, a reinterpretation of Arthur Schnitzler's play La Ronde, the story of a provocative clash between social expectations and taboo passions. We Go Round and Round, under the direction of guest director Kimberly Senior, runs December 1-10, 2016. All performances take place at the Pell Chafee Performance Center, 87 Empire Street, Downtown Providence. 

La Jolla Playhouse presents the world-premiere production of Miss You Like Hell, book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winner Quiara Alegria Hudes (In the Heights, Water by the Spoonful), music and lyrics by acclaimed singer/songwriter Erin McKeown, directed by Lear deBessonet (Public Theatre's The Odyssey) and choreographed by Danny Mefford(Broadway's Fun Home).

Ahead of tomorrow's opening night, first images are released today of Samantha Barks and Jonathan Bailey in Tony Award-winning Broadway composer Jason Robert Brown's acclaimed musical The Last Five Years. Due to popular demand, the production at St. James Theatre will also extend its run by a week, and will now play until Saturday 3 December. 

Signature Theatre presents The Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World AKA The Negro Book of the Dead, written by Suzan-Lori Parks and directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz. The production runs now through Sunday, December 11, with an official opening slated for Sunday, November 13, 2016 at The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). The Old Globe today announced the remaining productions in its 2017 Summer Season, including a brand-new comedy, Ken Ludwig's Robin Hood!, and a Summer Shakespeare Festival lineup featuring Robert Sean Leonard in the title role of the towering history play Richard II, directed by Erica Schmidt. Shakespeare's exhilarating tragedy Hamlet follows, directed by Old Globe Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein, one of the leading American authorities on the works of Shakespeare.

Signature Theatre presents the world premiere production of Disney's Freaky Friday. Developed by Disney Theatrical Productions expressly for licensing to theatres, Freaky Friday features a book by Bridget Carpenter, music by Tom Kitt and lyrics by Brian Yorkey. This premiere production will be directed by Christopher Ashley with choreography by Sergio Trujillo. Freaky Friday runs now through November 20 in Signature Theatre's MAX Theatre. The Southwest Premiere of As We Lie Still adds cutting-edge production design to this spellbinding contemporary score that premiered at the New York Musical Theatre Fringe Festival in 2014.

SCROOGE THE MUSICAL opens at Artisan Center Theater on Friday, November 18, 2016 and runs through Friday, December 23, 2016.  The 196 seat theater-in-the-round is located at 444 East Pipeline Road in Hurst.  Performances are at 7:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday,Friday, and Saturday with 3:00pm matinees on Saturdays beginning November 26. No performance November 24.

Second Stage Theatre has announced complete casting for its upcoming New York premiere production of Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tracy Letts' play, MAN FROM NEBRASKA, directed by David Cromer.

The Public Theater announced complete casting today for TINY BEAUTIFUL THINGS, based on the acclaimed book by best-selling author Cheryl Strayed and adapted for the stage by Academy Award-nominated writer Nia Vardalos, with direction by Thomas Kail. This richly funny, uplifting new show is co-conceived by Marshall Heyman, Thomas Kail, and Nia Vardalos and will also feature Vardalos as the anonymous online advice columnist 'Sugar.'

New York, New York: National Alliance for Musical Theatre (Betsy King Militello, Executive Director) is thrilled to announce the first round of casting for the 28th Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS, which takes place on Today, October 27 and Friday, October 28, 2016 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). The Festival will kick off on Wednesday, October 26 with its celebrated concert, The 46th Minute, which features songs from Festival shows you will not get to hear in the 45-minute presentation.

Director Nicole Hand has announced her cast for Promethean Theatre Ensemble's January production of Sarah Ruhl's Eurydice, a look at the Greek myth of Orpheus through the eyes of his doomed bride, whose voice is typically missing from her own story. Appearing as Eurydice will be Janeane Bowlware (below left),* of Promethean's Bury the Dead, Linchpin's King John and Red Tape'sChurch/Pullman. Her husband Orpheus will be played by Jordan Golding (below right), a recent graduate of Oberlin College who has also studied at the British American Drama Academy in London.
