The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust today announced that Pulitzer-prize-winning playwright Ayad Akhtar and 2017 Tony Award-nominated playwright Lucas Hnath are the recipients of 2017 Steinberg Playwright Awards.

The Fabulous Fox Theatre has announced the engagement of the hit Broadway musical ON YOUR FEET! - based on the life story of seven-time GRAMMY winning international superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband, 19-time GRAMMY winning producer-musician-entrepreneur Emilio Estefan - will star Cuban-American Broadway actress Christie Prades as Gloria Estefan, and acclaimed stage and television actor Mauricio Martinez, playing Emilio Estefan.

Playwrights Horizons presents THE TREASURER, the world premiere of a new play by Max Posner (Judy) and directed by three-time Lortel Award winner David Cromer (The Band's Visit, Our Town, Adding Machine). Commissioned by Playwrights Horizons, the play will be the second production of the theater company's 2017/2018 Season.

Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song was recently extended for two additional weeks of performances at Second Stage Theater and will now play through Sunday, December 3. Directed by Mois s Kaufman, Torch Song begins previews tonight, September 26, and officially opens on October 19 at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theater (305 West 43rd Street).

PHANTOM opens at Artisan Center Theater on Friday, October 6, 2017 and runs through Saturday, November 4, 2017. The 196 seat theater-in-the-round is located at 444 East Pipeline Road in Hurst. Performances are at 7:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with 3:00pm matinees on Saturdays beginning October 14. Reserved seating tickets are $24.00 for adults, $22.00 for students and seniors, and $12.00 for children 12 and under.
