Winter Quarter at UW Drama To Include RUTHERFORD AND SON & IN THE HEART OF AMERICA

This winter, the University of Washington School of Drama will present two works by eminent female dramatists, Rutherford and Son by Githa Sowerby, and In the Heart of America by Naomi Wallace. The productions are master's theses for our graduating MFA directors, Cody Holliday Haefner and Amanda Friou.

Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater Is Ready To Take Center Stage Once More

In the fall of 2017, Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater cancelled its last show amidst its 33rd season with a daunting mortgage crisis at hand. It looked dire for the non-profit which built a state-of-the art theater on State Highway Route 6 in 2008. Rumors were swirling that the theater was closing its doors. But in August, at their Sock & Buskin Bash, new Executive Director Christopher Ostrom and new Board Chair Donna Ward "burned the mortgage" (in theatrical style they used flash paper to illustrate it), and officially announced that the darkest days were behind them. The turnaround has been bolstered by generous donors, the good spirit of community in Wellfleet and the Outer Cape, and a determined Board of Trustees.

The Reading Series will feature new works by Aaron Carter, Emily Feldman, Dave Harris, Jonathan Spector and Sanaz Toossi.

Two-Time Tony Award Winner Sutton Foster Brings One-Woman Show To The Eccles Center

Expanding on its traditional New Year's Eve Celebration, the Park City Institute announced a full evening of festivities, open to residents and visitors all. The evening begins at 8:00 P.M., with a performance from two-time Tony Award-winning actress and recording artist, Sutton Foster, in her critically-acclaimed one-woman show. Following the performance, the celebration continues at Tupelo, 508 Main Street, featuring festive cocktails, an elegant supper menu from James Beard-featured chef, Matt Harris, and dancing past midnight.

Brian Copeland's Hit THE WAITING PERIOD Returns In 2019

The Marsh San Francisco adds five free performances of Brian Copeland's The Waiting Period, due to ongoing support from a GoFundMe campaign and generous corporate contributions from Fremont Bank and OSIsoft in San Leandro. This deeply moving and surprisingly funny work outlines Copeland's own struggles with depression and suicidal thought, and is presented at no cost to remove all barriers for those who may be struggling with depression themselves. Featuring humorous, poignant, and riveting insights, the solo show written by Copeland and directed by David Ford, will take place January 6 & 20,  February 3, March 3 & 17, 2019 with performances at 5:30pm, Sundays at The Marsh San Francisco, 1062 Valencia Street. General admission for this performance is free, although reservations are recommended. DEAR EVAN HANSEN Breaks Box Office Record At San Francisco's Curran

The First National Tour of Dear Evan Hansen has broken the box office record for the highest-grossing week ever at San Francisco's Curran. For the week ending December 9, 2018, the production grossed $1.64 million despite only playing seven performances. This breaks the eight-performance week record previously set by The Book of Mormon in 2012. Dear Evan Hansen is playing at the Curran now through Sunday, December 30, 2018.
