A new production of Double Cross by Thomas Kilroy - one of Ireland's greatest living playwrights – opens this evening in the Lyric Theatre, Belfast. Co-produced by the Abbey Theatre and Lyric Theatre and directed by Jimmy Fay, tonight marks the first major production of this fascinating and searing Irish play, since its Field Day Theatre Company world premiere in 1986.

Casting has been completed for the upcoming concert production of Howard Goodall's The Hired Man. Joining the previously announced Jenna Russell and John Owen-Jones on September 22nd will be Sean Kearns (Wicked, The Commitments) as Pennington, Jessica Louise Parkinson (Love Beyond) as Sally, and James Moore (Matilda) as Harry. They will line up alongside the author Melvyn Bragg as the narrator.
