A new production of Double Cross by Thomas Kilroy - one of Ireland's greatest living playwrights – opens this evening in the Lyric Theatre, Belfast. Co-produced by the Abbey Theatre and Lyric Theatre and directed by Jimmy Fay, tonight marks the first major production of this fascinating and searing Irish play, since its Field Day Theatre Company world premiere in 1986.

A unique one-off outdoor performance of The Last Ship, that will include its creator Sting who will be performing live alongside the cast, is to be held in Newcastle later this month, alongside the very river that helped inspire and shape the show.

Sting attended the press night of his musical The Last Ship at the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham tonight - and posed with the cast for a photo on stage after the show.

With Mischief Theatre's production of The Play That Goes Wrong soon to open on Broadway, today the company announces the new cast for its critically acclaimed smash (and grab) hit play The Comedy About A Bank Robbery.

Casting has been completed for the upcoming concert production of Howard Goodall's The Hired Man. Joining the previously announced Jenna Russell and John Owen-Jones on September 22nd will be Sean Kearns (Wicked, The Commitments) as Pennington, Jessica Louise Parkinson (Love Beyond) as Sally, and James Moore (Matilda) as Harry. They will line up alongside the author Melvyn Bragg as the narrator.

Actor and presenter Curry took over the role on March 25, alongside Emma Hatton (Elphaba), Savannah Stevenson (Glinda), Oliver Savile (Fiyero), Liza Sadovy (Madame Morrible), Sean Kearns (Doctor Dillamond), Daniel Hope (Boq) and Katie Rowley Jones (Nessarose).

Tom McGowan will play his final performance as The Wizard on 12 March 2016. From 14-24 March 2016, the role will be played by Sean Kearns.
