UP announced today it has acquired the full seven-season run of GILMORE GIRLS, the award-winning, fan-favorite family drama starring Lauren Graham (“Parenthood”), Alexis Bledel (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), and Melissa McCarthy.

Netflix announced additional casting for the fan favorite series, Gilmore Girls (WT), created, written and directed by Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive produced, written and directed by Daniel Palladino. Milo Ventimiglia (Gotham), Matt Czuchry (The Good Wife), Liza Weil (How To Get Away With Murder) and Yanic Truesdale (Rumours) are set to return to their original characters in the Gilmore Girls revival on Netflix, which will include four 90-minute episodes.

The interaction between Brown and her equally hardworking partner Catherine Foster portrayed a multidimensional mix of African-American culture and urban girlhood not often accessible to those without a similar background. There was a sense of sisterhood and innocence not often seen in mainstream portrayals of African American youth. However, the piece did not limit itself to depicting the idyllic.
